Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a retired professor of Art History & Humanities. I began to seriously research my family history in the summers in the U.K. after my "summer abroad" students returned home, Most of my ancestry is English, Scottish, Welsh, Irish and Cornish. Both of my parents had done research on their families, so we pooled our knowledge. Recently, as I emptied their house, I moved both of their collections of photos, data, etc. to my house to try to merge the collections. I'll be busy for years.

I am working on Painter, Ray/Rea, Barrick, Gilman, Wylie, Humphreys, Gibbons, Grosvenor, Lobdell, Fuller and Gilchrist, The rest are on the back burner until I get back to Europe.

Judy Ray
Judy passed away October 4, 2013 of cancer. I just realized as I type this that it was one year ago today. She was a distant cousin of mine that I just learned about a couple of years before she passed, and she had so much information on the Painter Family. RIP, Judy

I probably am your second cousin. My grandfather was RLH. I will try to get my brother to stop in Fargo and get pictures and info from the cemetary when he goes to MN on vacation.

Hello Judy, Someone sent me a message stating that you had passed away. I didn't know if I should except that information or not but I see you have not answered any of your messages since last year and then one in January. I hope you get this message and that you are okay.

I made the memorial for John Grosvenor in MA and saw the link to his father William in England. Where did you get this neat informtion? I have a friend living not 5 miles from that church and he's going to take some photos. I'm wondering if you know others buried there or want the photos when I get them. Your memorial was 92491000

How do you relate to John. I also made the memorial for his wife and the links come down to me.

Need Help
Hi J,
I don't know if you are close to the cemetery or not, but if you are, I was wondering if you could help me. I'm researching the Bell surname, I know it's like Smith!
I know that the family lived in Niagara Falls in 1925, and that one of them, was buried in the Riverdale Cemetery, name is David Perry Bell 1908-1928, I was hoping to get confirmation of this, and hopefully a photo of the headstone. If you can, your help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your time

Phebe (Daggett) Wylie
Are you a descendant of Ida May (Gilman) Ray? I am the Great-Great Grandson of John L. Daggett, youngest brother of Phebe (Daggett) Wylie and I was so surprised to look into the face of John's niece, Charlotte M. (Wylie) Gilman.I have been researching the Daggett Family for many years. John L. Daggett was the father of Rachael Helen (Daggett) Winney of Broadalbin, Fulton County, New York. Rachael & Charlotte would be first cousins. My Paternal Grandmother, Gertrude H. (Winney) Fox was the daughter of John J. Winney & Rachael H. (Daggett) Winney. My Father, William L. Fox, Sr was the youngest son of Robert D. Fox & Gertrude (Winney) Fox. I am my father's youngest son, William L. Fox, Jr. I have copied the Wylie Family Bible's dates from a copy made by Mrs. James (Jennie Codding) Daggett of Broadalbin. Horace Jeffords ran the funeral home in Broadalbin so he loaned the Bible to Jennie Daggett because he knew the Dagget Family were relatives of the Wylie's who he descended from. Well this is a long message so I will stop here. My e-mail address is; Please send me a message at that address. Thank You! William L. Fox formerly of Gloversville, N.Y but now of Wichita, Kansas.

RE: you're a new member
Perhaps you remember the Ground Round @ NF Blvd & Military? I worked there for several years in the 80's.

Yes - We live in the Niagara Falls area(actually Wheatfield but have a falls zipcode). You're very welcome. I know I have too learn more about the smarter way to do this, but I found the people a Riverdale very friendly and helpful. I've always been interested in cemeteries and grave markers - some have such a story to tell. I plan to visit a few more cemeteries in the area to get some pictures while we still have some good weather. I hadn't thought about the the family memorial but that would be a good project.
