Bio and Links
Bio Photo I started on Find A Grave 6 years ago with emphasis on my East Tennessee family ties and Union soliders from Tennessee. I now have a number of memorials that I manage so I am asking that all requests for transfers or adding information be done through the edit tab on the memorial. I am happy to make family links or add information to any of the memorials that I manage. Please follow FAG guidelines and state your relationship and include your contributor number with each request for transfer. Please note that I do not transfer from messages, only through the edit tab.

I just wanted to say a special thank you for all the
photos that you have taken of the Civil Way soldiers that I added memorials for in 2015 and 2016. I know how hard it is to get a good photo and all of yours are excellent. It's hard on the knees from past experience.

John J Crittenden
This John Crittenden was not a Col, but a Private. Sorry for the confusion, Diane

Col. John Jackson Crittenden
Hi Paula, Would you mind to check the record on his birthplace and Date and other info. There is something not correct about this, or very confusing. The original entry was the following:

Col John Jackson Crittenden
Jun. 8, 1864

Family links:
  Nancy R. Jackson Crittenden (1792 - 1865)
 Edwin C Crittenden (1819 - 1879)*
  Robert M Crittenden (1824 - 1894)*
  Mary Frances Crittenden Templeton (1828 - 1892)*
  Daniel Webster Crittenden (1837 - 1903)*
Nashville National Cemetery
Davidson County
Tennessee, USA
Plot: , J-13997
 Imported from: US Veteran's Affairs
Record added: Mar 04, 2000
Find A Grave Memorial# 3184913

Also about him:
In the military. Sheriff of Wilson County, Tenn. John J. Crittenden, was the 16th Sheriff of Wilson Co., serving from 1848-1854

Now this memorial reads as below:
"Birth: 1844
Fayette County
Alabama, USA
Death: Jun. 6, 1864
Davidson County
Tennessee, USA
Find A Grave Memorial# 3184913
John was born in 1844 in Franklin County, Alabama".
Perhaps this is a different John J. Crittenden, but this memorial is very different than the one posted in Aug, 2015.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks Diane

Frankie applied for Widow pension 29 May 1865 after Edward Allen's death.

They had a least 5 children but only two lived to adulthood: Thomas G b 1848 Jefferson TN & Emma M. b 1859 TN. Thomas G married his cousin Lizzie Sturman, Taney Co, MO. Emma M married John Henry Pratt.

Frankey Sturman Allen moved the family to be near her younger brother William H Sturman of Brownbranch, Taney Co, MO.

Thank you, Paula, for adding the Information to his memorial.

Re: David Acuff @ Aurora Old City Cemetery
Davids stone is almost unreadable, I actually missed it the first pass through. I did find the Civil War Memorial with David's name on the back.

RE: George W. Bridges
Your very welcome. The cemetery was about 3 miles in the woods on a dirt road, but it was maintained very well. It was a very old interesting cemetery.

Thank you for correcting my mistake. I corrected the memorial to identify Thomas as a Union veteran and not CSA. I appreciate your contributions to Find A Grave.
