FOR ALL THE FOLKS THAT SPUTTER ABOUT WHAT INFORMATION I AM LACKING ON MY MEMORIALS...PLEASE SEE PHOTO AT LEFT. IT SHOULD EXPLAIN MY DILEMMA!|
I have gone around a lot of Caledonia County of Vermont photographing entire cemeteries. I am in the process of transcribing all of the photos and will post names that are not already on the site.
But, as I live in the world of "not much better than dial-up internet", it will be at the most basic level. (ie, not linking family members). The volume is just too high, and internet too slow. I will, however, do my best to keep up with any requests made.
THERE IS A LOT OF TALK AND COMPLAINTS ABOUT MEMBERS WHO APPEAR TO BE NUMBER COLLECTORS. BE ASSURED I AM NOT ONE OF THEM. MY GOAL IS NOT TO ATTAIN THE HIGHEST NUMBER IT IS TO HAVE ADDED ALL MY PHOTOS AND HAVE A NUMBER OF ZERO MAINTAINED! I THINK THEY SHOULD BE WITH FAMILY..AND THAT IS A BROAD SCOPE. ANYONE IN THE TREE IS CLOSER THAN I AM. I MERELY PHOTOGRAPHED A FEW CEMETERIES.

Hi Anne. Thanks. I did have some info on the Stevens from Charleston, a few years ago. It seem one of their kin was the town clerk. I'll dig for info. Melissa is from my direct line, as a 2nd cousin, 3x removed. They are in my tree.
Thank you for photographing and uploading these sites. I am looking into my Allen side (descended from David S. Allen son of Solomon and Nancy Pressy/Cressy). There is confusion of which Allens we follow so this is extremely helpful in proving some of it!

Thanks for the pics, Anne. Every little bit helps us with research. I get along fine without the pay sites too.

Hi Anne. Thank you for all that you do. I would love to care for their memorials. You may always use my public tree on ancestry to find contacts. Joe

LOLOL! You are a riot! Yup... these dead people can't hide from us! LOL
Actually, when photographing cemeteries, I swear sometimes they have reached out and stopped us so we would find them. I don't know how many times we have driven round and round a cemetery then finally decided to park and get out to look... only to open the door, step out, and find the headstone right beside the car! lol It's like one of them made us stop the car right there. Gets kinda spooky at times. lol My girlfriend in CA swears her ancestors up here have been leading us around for years so we find all of them for her. lol

LOL We do seem to be tripping over each other in researching all these people. lol Once you give me a bit of new info I just can't stop researching until I find all I can. I consider this great teamwork!

I suspect the same. The other family is there and with dates of sister, it makes sense.

Great News. Carruth Family book has Arthusa for that child, which was a baby, so limited information, other than years
There is one other child listed in the book that I don't see. John Carruth 1814 - 1817, no other info in the book, so not sure where he is buried

Thank you for the links to the newly created Find A Grave Memorials. Earlier today I pieced together all that has been contributed so far about Freedom D. Beede. I drafted the following biography. If you see any errors or discrepancies, please let me know.
Freedom D. Beede was born in Lyndon, Vermont, February 20, 1829. He was educated at the common schools and at the Lyndon Academy. After receiving his education in Vermont, it appears Freedom moved to Coos County, New Hampshire where in 1850 he married Phidelia A. Buck and employed himself there with farming until 1873. During that time two children were born, Ada (1854) and William (1859). One year after the birth of their son William, Phidelia passed away. Freedom remained in the area with his two young children and eventually remarried to Sarah Louise McCoy. Together they had three additional children, Fred (1866), James (1869), and Annie (1871). Freedom served as a member of the police department (chief) of Lancaster, New Hampshire, from 1867 to 1873. Freedom and Sarah returned to Vermont where he served as selectman in Maidstone, Essex County, Vermont in 1876 and 1877. According to the Journal of the House of the State of Vermont, Freedom D. Beede, democrat, served one term, 1878 to 1880, in the Vermont House of Representatives from Maidstone, Essex County. The House Journal lists his religious preference as Methodist. After completing his term in the Vermont legislature, Freedom and Sarah relocated to Lowell, Massachusetts, where it appears he resided until his death on May 24, 1891.
