Bio and Links
Bio Photo My researching of family began, after the birth of my grandson Max in 1997, when my daughter-in-law gave me a version of Family Tree Maker. As a child I always loved mysteries. I read my mother's Ellery Queen novels, watched Perry Mason episodes and my favorite board game was Clue. I always thought how much fun it would be to work as a detective. I guess, in my own way, I do.

I firmly believe that our ancestors deserve more than just dates on their memorials. It is because of that philosophy that I try to add as much of the information that is available to me. Thank you for either your help or your understanding when I fall short.

It is for that reason that I have stopped making transfers for right now. I have been backtracking my postings to make corrections or add information.

The surnames I am searching and recording;
from my paternal side are:
Gibson, Keller, Miller, Ploehs, Reed, Walkinshaw
&
from my maternal side, they are:
Beamer, Cunningham, Nelson, Peterson, Park, Parke, Parks, Perrell, Snow and Wiseman

On my husband's tree there are the following:
Mutscher, Oldendorf, vonGunden

The surname originated from 'von Gunten,' i.e. from the village of Gunten on Lake Thun in Kanton Bern, Switzerland. Hans von Gunten appeared in 1703 and 1704.

For those who wonder...
Why the number of memorials managed is higher than the number of memorials created?
This is due to some generous F*A*G contributors who decided to transfer some of their memorials to myself and others.
Thank you...
I feel honored to be one of the recipients entrusted to care for these postings.

I was wondering where you obtained the information that you posted on this memorial for the date of her death? In some newspaper articles that I have on her son - Nimrod - it is stated that she and her husband Andrew died within a few months of each other in 1866. There is also a find a grave memorial for her in another cemetery in Putnam County, Ohio.

Thanks, Virginia

RE: Another transfer and another thank you
The other WATT memorials I have are:

LAKEVIEW (Sarnia):

Beulah WATT, 1906-1982

James J. WATT, 1915-1995

HILLSDALE (Petrolia):

Vern WATT, 1901-1967

Kathleen Burns WATT, 1908-2003

Eugene Stanley WATT, 1905-1985

Elsie WATT, 1899-1971

Let me know if you want any or all of these transferred to you as well as any WATT names I should be looking for in any of our cemeteries.

This is what Find_A_Grave is supposed to be all about. I take this seriously and have a great respect and admiration for those taking the time and making the effort to link to their past. If I can be of future assistance, just let me know. I am in one cemetery or another every week, weather permitting and my success rate is around 98%. It's difficult locating some gravestones when there isn't a gravestone there! It's my honour to be able to help you as I have done so many people all around the globe over the past 7+ years.

RE: Transfers & thank yous X2
There are WATT family members in Arkona Cemetery. I can check to see if I have posted any memorials for WATT. I think there may be some in Hillsdale Cemetery in Petrolia. I can keep a look out and let you know should I find any if you like.
