Since 2009 I have been working on preserving the Greenwood Cemetery.

I have been going through the cemetery stone by stone trying to physically place all the graves. I'm also trying to add names to the stones that are unreadable, which is very very hard! Sometimes I find a stone which just says mother or father even

I have been going through obituaries, church records, cemetery books, county birth records, funeral home records, and death records just trying to make sure every one is found and taken care of.

The Greenwood cemetery is done. There maybe the occasional found ancestor in the obits or death certs, but all the photos (Except for recent burials like 2013 to 2017) have been taken of every stone I could find.

1) I am now asking for verification for any sac's sent to me. Unfortunately there have been to many people who have sent me sac's over one memorial and they are contradictory. Then the people get angry with me over information in the memorial. So please send verification for your edits or they won't be approved.

2) If you are within the FAG guidelines I will GLADLY transfer too.

3) FAG Rules Regarding Submitting Information / Creating Memorials

Can I add an obituary to my interment listing?

Please do NOT add photographs from obituary notices (unless you, personally took the photo), as they are protected by copyright law. Find A Grave reserves the right to remove obituary notices and photographs from memorial records. Similarly, you may NOT scan an obituary and add it as a photograph to a memorial record.

4) FAG Rules regarding duplicates:

** If you find a memorial has been added but has incomplete or incorrect information, instead of creating a duplicate memorial you should use the tools provided to submit corrections, additions or a transfer request via the "Suggest A Correction" link under the 'Edit' tab on the upper right of the memorial. YOU SHOULD NEVER DELIBERATELY CREATE A DUPLICATE MEMORIAL.

5) FAG guidelines regarding photos:

** Not obtaining permission before using others photos is a violation of copyright law and is against Find A Grave policy.

I found a photo of a relative on Find A Grave, can I use it?

Photos posted to memorials on Find A Grave are copyrighted by the member who submitted the photos. Lifting the photo to use elsewhere would be a violation of copyright. You must obtain written permission from the member to use any photo for your own use. In general if you did not take the photo yourself, you do not hold the copyright to the photo.

"I don't want to submit my information and then see it for sale here or on another site. Will Find A Grave always remain a free site?

Find A Grave has been around for over ten years. Our stated goal has always been to remain a free site for everyone. We have no plans on changing that. Additionally, we claim no copyright or 'ownership' of any photos that are posted to Find A Grave. THEY REMAIN YOUR PROPERTY. If we were to turn evil and start charging people to view YOUR photos against your wishes, you would have every LEGAL RIGHT to demand that we remove them. But we're not planning on turning evil, so it shouldn't be an issue."

Please Do not copy, or post to any website,(Ex.,, and such) any of the pictures that I've added to Find-a-Grave Memorials without getting my permission first thank you.

Thank you.

Unknown Stover Mem. #56893300
Greenwood Cemetery

You have added a note wondering if this gravemarker could be Warren. And I say no because the 1900 US Census Clara, the mother, says she has given birth to 7 and 4 are living. So that is Harry W. 1888-1889; Luther H. 1897-1899 and the unknown. Warren is listed as a child born in 1901, which is after the 1900 US Census. In the 1910 Census, Warren is living, but Clara's information says she has had 9 children and 6 are living. The two living since 1900 are Warren, born 1901 and Norman K. born 1904. In the 1910 US Census, Warren is 9 years old and Norman is 6 years old. So the unknown is still unknown. Thank you for your incredible work with the cemetery. Kindest regards,

Except for my actual relatives, would you be interested in taking my memorials from Greenwood? I am getting ready to move and have to downsize my memorials.

If so you can use Joseph Abdallah to reply

You asked: What memorials is he related to?

LOL, oh my, I don't even know how to start backtracking and figuring that out. Lots of females, lots of surnames in hubby's family. I'll have to keep an eye out from here on and let you know. :)

Thank you :) And nasty notes from family members? Good grief. There's no call to be rude, *especially* on a memorial site. Yes, go ahead, send the snarly ones to me. I'll see if I can't neutralize that vinegar with a little honey.

Cheers to you and all the fine work you've done. WOW. I keep seeing you everywhere in hubby's family line. I'm sure you and I will be conversing again. Soon. LOL.

John Airhart 141819244

How do you want me to verify the SACs for John? It's one long, convoluted trail I've followed. My husband's cousin Emanuel Wentz married Mary Catherine Airhart. Much to my surprise, Emanuel's sister Philomela "Minnie" married Catherine's brother -- John Airhart! I could tell they were brothers by the death cert you posted. (very helpful, that cert. thank you :) Minnie died in 1884 and John remarried. I found his obit, if you'd like that. Unfortunately, it doesn't mention Minnie by name.

Their surnames are misspelled so many different ways: Wentz is Wance/Wantz. Airhart is Earhart, Eirhart, Erhard and a couple more I can't remember. Even so, I located 3 of their kids. Twasn't easy. Guess I'm just stubborn. LOL. Anyway, I'll start sending in edits and you let me know what you need. 'k? :)

Let's face it! People just add info to memorials without checking anything - which makes our job to recheck everything that is sent to us. Many people like myself do not have the funds to purchase sites that would enhance our ability to make sure info is correct but how do we know that info is correct. Errors are made on death certificates, obituaries, etc. People who really care either check everything that is sent to them or take the info on faith. Incorrect info has been handed down for years and I cannot see that changing. Sending sources with every memorial created is a cumbersome job yet should be done. Of course, some people deny the memorial - not knowing anything about the person and ignore the sources. When I sent you the names, Charles R. Shope and Irena Ida (Baker) Shope, you questioned the 'R' and Ida. I create many memorials and I am sure there are errors but I do the best I can based on info I have access to. I had the death date correct on my FAMILY TREE for Charles R. Shope but not on the memorial - go figure!
