RE: John L. D. Walker, 10th Iowa
Thank you for your note and for adding Pvt Walker to the 10th. I never noticed the discrepancy of "Cav" until you pointed it out!

RE: Iowa Civil War soldiers
Hi. Thanks for your interest. I have an Iowa Virtual cemetery, but it has over 10,000 names and is not searchable. I also have Virtual Cems for MOST Iowa Counties and all--or at least most --of them should have reg. info--these are NOT just Iowa reg's though.

Why do you have her maiden name as Hovencamp? I have her daughter Keziah's death certificate that says her maiden name was McCormick.

Pvt Jacob C. Albertson
Jacob Albertson is my gr-gr-grandfather. I notice that you state his birth county as Marion, Ohio. I have also had others state it is Dayton, Ohio. I personally have not been able to find any record of his birth except that he lived in Holmes, Ohio. Would you be able to tell me where I can find his birth record, etc. I appreciate your help in this matter.

Thank you,

Memorial #48410215
Dear C&N Rasmussen,
Thank you for the memorial of my (4) Great Grandfather Pierre Westrick. Wondering if you have any info on his daughter Theresa Westrick. Would you have any info on his wife Agness Kreiner or Greiner? I have found that in some research that his wife's last name was spelled with a K instead of a G. I'm thinking maybe when she came to the states, from Germany, she chaged her name. I was told it was not uncommon for immigrants to change their names s little bit. Not sure what came first the K or the G.
Again thank you for all the info you shared so far.

C&N Rasmussen.....I was wondering if you have any history on "Peter" Westrick's wife Agnes Greiner?

Thanks for your time,

RE: Henry Ricky/Rickey
It appears that Tony Cossean, who created memorial 27923303, has passed away. You could ask findagrave to delete his memorial or you could ask them to give you ownership and then you could correct it. What do you think?

The other memorial, 3286141, was created by the VA Admin when they submitted their spreadsheet in 2000. Their spreadsheet contains many mistakes.

RE: Henry Ricky/Rickey
Thanks for the info and clarification. The VA Admin for the New Albany National Cemetery has quite a few mistakes. Most of them passed down from incorrect records to begin with. What I have discovered is that's "Deaths of Records of U.S. Volunteers 1861-1865 is very incorrect in many instances. Sometimes because the individual(s) relaying the original information may have been misinformed from the get-go. Many name were apparently recorded using the phonetical spelling or even the "sounds like" version. One has to do the best one can to get it as correct as possible. Any info is gladly welcome!
