|My family history has almost always been a mystery to me. Since I enjoy puzzles, I guess it was only a matter of time before I began to gather the information and put the family together.|
In high school, while studying Alabama history, I discovered that the graves of many of the men and women I was studying were in a cemetery near where I was. So, I frequented Maple Hill Cemetery in Huntsville, AL and visited the grave sites of people important to Alabama history. That cemetery is also very beautiful and serene, so I spent some quiet time there, too.
Now, I enjoy visiting other cemeteries to help others learn about their families. I also like to compare cemeteries. Some, that are better groomed, seem less attractive to me. Some, that seem forgotten are rich with information of the area.
And of course, there's the associated emotional tug of realizing that others passed on at my age, the age of my children (or younger) and after almost an entire century.
I also enjoy recognizing that some are saints that have run the race before. Someday, the Lord will return and theirs will be the privilege of ascending to him first. (1 Thessalonians 4:16)

|priscilla ross-fox||David Rich mother|
I believe this is David's mother. I'm so tired at the moment and a bit frustrated with Findagrave as many of the photos/memorials I had added simply disappeared.
When I had added the photos for Grayslake Cemetery there none of the family at Find A Grave but they somehow 'reappeared' later. I did not duplicate as they were not there or I would have asked for a transfer at that time and would have saved myself some gas money and time going there to take photos.
I also connect to the Rich/Hendee families (and others related) but I probably don't have as much information as you do.
Anyway, there are probably many others related to this family. I have asked the memorial of Esau to correct his name and connect him to his wife

I've added the date of death to his entry. Not sure why I didn't do that initially, since I took the photos. I don't have any other information, unfortuately. I travel extensively in my work and seek out cemeteries when I travel. I take photos of monuments, not quite randomly, but those that are older and unique.
Sorry for the delay but I was able to photograph all the "Rich" family monuments at Avon Centre Cemetery. Let me know if you are still interested.

|DonnaJ||RE: More info?|
There's a book called Grayslake & Avon Township by Charlotte K. Renehan. It is online at Google Books, but I don't think the whole book is on there. There is some information on the Rich families in there. You can take a look at it here:
Also, you can buy the complete book on Amazon for around $16 plus shipping:

You are most welcome! Glad it was helpful to you. There are other Rich's in this cemetery also. You may find that some of them connect to Calvin. Good luck with your research!

I'm glad that information was helpful. There are 2 great resources that I use constantly:
Mo Death Certificate look-up:
and the archdiocese website. It is very helpful to find who is buried with your relatives:

|Rickie Smith Block||photo for Ben Winkler Sts Peter and Paul Cemetery|
Mr. Martin I went to Sts. Peter and Paul looking for Ben Winkler's marker. Sad to say the Winklers in sec.31 lot 0127 have no marker, of any kind. The Winklers are left of Booker and right of Feld. I am unable to fulfill
the job I took to upload a photo.

If there is a photo of the area or of the section marker on a memorial at Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery, that area has been photo-documented and there is no stone for that person. About 1/2 of the cemetery has been completed.

I will do the transfers, but please use the edit button and ask that way so I don't miss one.
Do that to each memorial
|Kelly O'Brian||RE: Lee Cemetery - Thank You|
HI. So sorry to hear about the damaged headstones ... Sarah and John Robinson's markers are/were so unique - one of the reasons why I took photos of them. Kelly
