Family research has been a part of my life for over 30 years. I do volunteer work at the LDS Family History Center located in my neighborhood even though I am not Mormon. I call myself the gentile librarian. I live on the west side of Houston in Katy. I was born in Waco, Texas and go there every few months to be with family. Many of my family members are buried in the Robinson Cemetery south of Waco going back to my great-great-grandmother. Growing up in Robinson, a farming community at the time, was a wonderful experience. |
At the age of fifteen my parents and I moved to Texarkana, Texas. I completed high school and junior college in Texarkana. While attending UT my parents moved back to Robinson. I did six months of active duty in the Marine Corps and five and a half years in the reserve program. After completing the six months active duty, I moved to Houston, TX to seek my fortune. I would have to say my wife, children and grandchildren are my fortune. I am happily married and retired and have eight grandchildren which add joy to my life. If you think I can help you, feel free to contact me.
If you have any corrections or additions to a memorial, please let me know. If you would like for me to transfer a memorial, please let me know.

You have a listing in Jacksonville for the subject. He is buried at McKnight Cemetery in Cushing, TX. I personally attended his service and burial. Please make this correction.

|Gerry||Matt Parrott grave|
The photo that I have of Matt's headstone in Walnut Grove Cemetery, was taken by his great granddaughter Debbie Parrott. I also have a copy of his death cert, however it is very sparsely filled out. Burial place is just listed as "German". Also, noted that he is listed as Single, but I show he was married to his second wife at that time, unless they separated. In the photo I have, he is buried next to his first wife Anna May Prince, which is my connection to him, she died in 1911.
I haven't been in contact with Debbie Parrott for years now. At that time she seemed to be just getting started with researching her family.
Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner... I haven't been working on my research for a couple of months.... Too busy ... hopefully I will be getting back to it soon.

I would like to pick up your photo request but Sparkman Hillcrest (SH) does not like to provide burial locations to volunteers, citing privacy issues. Your cooperation is needed in order for requests to be filled. The volunteers will need you to call SH and request the location. Their phone number is 214-363-5401. Once you have the location, please add it to your request. Thanks.

It looks great. Nice way of connecting both graves. Do you know how they know that Abraham is the son of Adam? There are many Thomas' and it would help my researching.

You are so welcome Bob. Too bad no headstone was placed. Thank you so much for the compliment. Yes Oakland is complicated but I have a good map and once I figured it out, it has been pretty simple. There is just a lot of vegetation in the sections that need to be cleaned out so it is hard sometimes to get to the area. But they are working on clearing out the sections so we shall see. Happy Holidays!!!

Good grief - you sent me this note about Maria Enright 2 years ago and I'm just now seeing it! I'm so sorry!
I'm not related to Minnie, I'm just a theater history buff who stumbled - almost literally - across her grave. I was inspired to start researching her story and as such projects always do, it has taken on a life of its own.
If you'd like me to manage her site, I wouldn't mind at all. Again, my apologies for the extraordinary delay!

I will see what I can do.
