You are welcome. Please wait as long as possible for your reunion with him. He won't mind. I placed a river stone on all of the headstones that I took pictures of today. Don't know if that's right or wrong, being that I'm Catholic.

JOEL BOWEN DAKIN DEATH
Hi Dick,
I went to the courthouse and got Joel's Probate records. HE did die in 1875 not 1873. Maxine Brown and I think the number on his stone at Dan Knowles was misread and it's buried in the ground. The stone is broken and part is n the ground. Hopefully, we will get permission to clean up this cemetery.
Just wanted you to know I finally found some legal documentation that actually states his death as Dec 24 1875. Which would correlate with Wallace being born in April 1876.

RE: Joel Dakin
Good Morning Dick,

Thank you for explaining this process. I would love for your to transfer my family to me to maintain. I am constantly finding new information on my genealogy journey. I have more time to work with this since my somewhat retirement.

As a matter of a fact, I am going to the Maine State Archives with Maxine Brown from Wilton Historical Society tomorrow to investigate some of these questions that I'm unable to find on line.
If you get this today and can think of some questions, please email me. I am going to investigate Ezekiel and family, as well as the Dakins that his daughter, your 2 G Aunt, Frances Louise, my 2 G grandmother, married into, as well as the Kinne(Kinney's)and the Dunham and Colburns'.

Thanks again for helping me with this and yes, please do transfer anyone you think I need to keep editing with our family history to keep accurate. You know me by now I have to have credibility to back it, to know it is real, not just someone entering information to fill in the blanks and believe it is true. There are too many twist to the story to not find the FACTS! Ha! Ha!

Have a great day!
Melody

Hey Dick,
I don't understand what you mean by transfer to me. I'm new to FIND A GRAVE.
If you need a copy of the papers of Ezekiel let me know and I'll scan and send by email.
Thanks for helping me.

RE: Joel Dakin
Hey Dick,
This is Melody. The reason I know this is true because my great Uncle Wallace died at 99 years old and his records show he was born in 1876 after his father died. MY 2 G grandmother remarried Horace Reed later in left. Her stone should say Reed on the end but it doesn't. I have photos of my uncle Wallace Dakin. I'll find his obit and let you read it. He was born on Apr 1, 1876.
Hope all is well.

RE: Joel Dakin
Hi Dick,
This is Melody Holmquist that you met in Wilton. Yes, the information is confusing with all the headstones and cards that don't have accurate information. Wallace's SSDI even says he was born 1876. Frances Louise was pregnant with Wallace when her husband died. He was born 4 months after his father died, Apr 1, 1876. His father Joel died Dec 24,1875.
I'm still searching for Joel's death records, but what I am finding out at the Wilton Historical Society with Maxine Brown is that some of the books were in a fire at the original town office and I may never find it unless I find a family bible.
My cousin, Eleanor Chase Welch has mentioned my great grandmother, Ella M, who was Joel and Frances's daughter, had a bible and I am trying to see who has it or if it got thrown away like a lot of information that no one knew what to do with.
I have searched high and low for Ezekiel Knowles Will and only find what the Probate Court in Farmington gave me. He didn't have very much when he died.
I'm working on this family. It's quite tangled- Ha! Ha! I just untangle one story to enter another.
I will keep you informed.
Thanks,
Melody
P.S. Have Happy Holidays to you and your family!

RE: Stebbens Currier
Maybe under transcription make a note that the stone is really 3 different people and that it was reconnected incorrectly in the 1990s.
Thank goodness this is the only one we've found that messed up! Thanks.

Thanks for getting the shot. Was able to attach to his parents based on the Hebrew and the age.
