Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a southern girl (and being 65, I use the term loosely!) who has been at this genealogy thing for many years. I love cemeteries and find them as beautiful as any park with the added bonus of beautiful markers and a 1000 stories. So naturally I love this site! I live in Savannah, Georgia so I have a lot to explore.
I am excited to add new photos and search the site for "missing" family members!! Candace S
Family names..Morgan, Thompson, Shiver, Fulghum, Jeffers, Elder, Belford, Winterbotham, Coss to name a few......

Find A Grave Memorial# 121993805.
I manage the memorial, but you attached an obit to it that has the incorrect date on it.
The newspaper that obit came from was Jacksonville Daily Journal, June 5, 1966.

If you are using newspapers.com, look at the date of the actual paper when it comes up on the viewer. While newspaper.com's heading/search comes up May 6, 1966.....when the actual paper comes up in the viewer the paper date is June 6, 1966.

Petouvis Memorials
Candace,

Thank you so much for the Petouvis Family transfers. I wasn't expecting it, but it is a nice surprise! I will get to work on them tomorrow.

Not related. Interested in US political and military history, especially Vermont and New York.

I'm a longtime National Guard member, and a portion of my service was with the 42nd Division, so I have a specific interest in that organization , too.

George Moore
When I went to make the links you suggested, I noticed you attached a picture of the obit on George Moore's memorial with the date of May 5, 1966. The date of the paper was June 6, 1966. I went back and double checked it.

If you got the clipping off of newspapers.com, they have the date of the paper wrong. And newspapers. com has the papers/obits copyrighted.

Just a comment on the two dates on two stones. The second photo with the dates 1906 - 1984 agrees with Cemetery Records.

RE: Sarah Powers
Sarah 99640775 is there and I have sent info to be put in her bio. Info states, that there are no headstones in this lot but, then again we, You & I have ran across this before, and as usual there are errors in everything we do. There is a marker, I am assuming that this marker is for her.

Hope this helps.

Reading difficult stones
I saw one of your posts and your mention of tracings from difficult to read stones. It can be done with aluminum foil and a soft toothbrush.... a little less pressure is needed with this technique, and of course that's good for the stone.
