I became interested in family history in May 2010 when my mother's sister passed away. All three sisters had passed within three years! It made me realize that the older generation was leaving and if I wanted to know more about our family, I better start asking questions! I got very interested in family history and discovered that I really enjoy visiting eastern NC cemeteries, taking pictures of headstones, and figuring out who the people were and if/how they were related to me. I focus on Martin County (my dad's family) and Wilson County (my mom's family).

I am a member of the DAR. John Jackson Morgan Sr of Nash County, NC is the first Revolutionary War patriot I have been able to prove my connection to.

This hobby (obsession?) has been a real blessing in many ways. The best part is meeting relatives I never knew I had, and becoming friends with some of the most wonderful people I've ever known.

When contacting me about a memorial or photo I have added, PLEASE INCLUDE THE MEMORIAL NUMBER.

Eliza Flowers Petway 140586801
Actually, now that I have looked at Eliza further, I believe that both her parents died before 1900, and she was taken in by her mother's sister Catherine and raised with Catherine Weaver Petway's family.

If you look at the birth dates for Dock Petway and Eliza, you will see that they are not twins, and they were born too close together to be biological siblings.

Sorry for the mistake.

Her parents were not the Petways. She married a Petway. Her parents were John T Flowers b 1856 in Wilson County, NC and Eliza Weaver b 1853 in Wilson, County, NC.

You can see her death certificate here:

or I can send you a jpg of it.

Best regards,

RE: Reddick Webb
Thank you! I admire your work as well and run across your name many times when I'm researching. I created the duplicate & sponsored his memorial b/c I got frustrated. I've been going through old emails from Find A Grave & saw one from you stating you had a child you were going to link to Redick Webb & you emailed me about the duplicate I created for him. Hence, my email to you. It's old, maybe you don't remember. My memorial for him is #118362393. I think I probably need to contact Find A Grave about it. Anyway, thanks!

RE: George Henry Sullivan (Wilson Co., NC)
Deborah you are so kind. I don't know why Daddy never had a footstone done for her. I need to talk to my brother and look into that. Nannie should be beside Pop....Bill O'Neal and at Grandpa's head...George Sullivan. The plot beside George H. Sullivan should be vacant. THat was to be for my uncle Henry E. Sullivan who ended up being buried in Wilmington. You are to kind thank you.
