My name is William, and I started this to help me with a genealogy project I was assigned in a research class in college.|
The memorials I have placed on Find-A-Grave are of family members. Thank you to everyone who have placed flowers in memory of them. I also appreciate the help of all of you who have taken the time to take headstone photos for me, or have provided photos and/or documents. Special thanks to those who have sponsored some of my memorials.
If you want to contact me, please leave a public message.

You're very welcome

No problem. It happens every once in awhile to every one of us. Glad to have helped.
|Jackie R.||RE: Eli and Enos Davis|
Hi William, I can't share attachments etc. this way, is there another contact email for you so I can send you proofs? I'm doing in depth research on the whole family since I'm descended from William Marshall through two daughters, Hannah Davis, wife of Enos, and Massey Hutton, wife of John Hutton. Daughter Mary F. Davis married James Reeder and their son Enos Gurley Reeder was my 2nd gr grandfather. He married Jane Hutton granddau. of Massey and John Hutton. Only proof of Eli being a son of Hannah Davis is in Quaker records when she moves to join Quaker monthly meeting at Salem, Ohio, and those younger children moved with her in 1813, after Enos Davis death. She and Enos weren't in the Quaker records otherwise since she was disowned for marrying him outside the church in SC, 1894. So I'm looking at records for Wm. Marshall to help with a timeline. Enos Davis is in militia 1787 when Wm. is in Chester, PA, and seems to have followed the family to S.C. and again to Ohio. They're all (Davis, Marshall, Hutton) in the 1800 census of Union County, SC. In Dec. 1803, Mary Marshall gets a certificate to move to Westland M.M. which is in PA just east of the Ohio River from Ohio. They're there until the 3 families, Davis, Marshall and Hutton, bought land from Atwater and moved to Atwater Twp., Portage Co., OH settling close to each other in 1806-7. It was shortly after Enos bought some additional land farther north at a major intersection of trails/roads that he died. Cause unknown. What is interesting is that some of the Quakers were active in the underground railroad and in particular Massey Hutton and her grandson Arvine Quier. Look at his Find-a-grave memorial in Iowa and read the magazine article which can be accessed online. Hope this helps. Thanks for posting what you did on Find-a-grave about Eli. Wish there were more records about Enos Davis. I've searched a lot of places for him, but can't find a record linking him to his parents.

Glad to find the memorial for Eli. He was probably born in Union County,SC, since parents moved to Atwater Twp., Portage County, OH, in 1807. You have the wrong Enos Davis as his father. Our Enos was probably born in S.C. since that's where he and Hannah met and married. There were quite a few Davis families there, but no record of whose son he was. He died suddenly in 1813 since that's the year before he disappears from the tax list in Atwater Twp. Hannah remarried and this is her memorial Find A Grave #161108059. Best, Jackie Ruttinger

In 1939 there were only 55 enlisted pilots in the then-U.S. Army Air Corps (USAAC).
On 3 June 1941, Public Law 99 was enacted, allowing enlisted men to apply to flight training. Candidates had to be between the ages of 18 and 22, have a high school diploma with at least 1.5 credit hours worth of math, and have graduated in the top half of their class. In November 1941, this was reduced to being at least 18 years old and possessing a high school diploma. After demand lifted in mid-1944, the requirements went back to college-educated or college graduate candidates.

Hi, William -- I'm actually connected through his first wife. She's the one I'm related to, albeit a bit distantly. Cheers!

Thank you so much. I really appreciate that you transferred these memorials to my care. When I get a chance in the next couple of days I plan on working on their bios. I have a Fosdick family bible that goes back to the 1860's.
Thank you again.

Willard Pershing Graber died 11 July 1988, not 1989. If you could please be so kind as to update his memorial to correct this, that would be wonderful. It reads at the bottom of the memorial that he died in 1989. The California Death Index entry to confirm this is found at http://search.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/sse.dll?gss=angs-g&new=1&rank=1&msT=1&gsfn=Willard+Pershing&gsfn_x=1&gsln=Graber&gsln_x=1&MSAV=1&cp=0&catbucket=rt&uidh=q42&pcat=ROOT_CATEGORY&h=2802410&recoff=6+7+8&db=CAdeath1940&indiv=1&ml_rpos=2
