Groton Cemetery, Groton SD
I'm curious if you live close to the Groton Cemetery in Groton, SD? I'm looking to see if there is a register that list names and if so to find a Stephen Elmer Cook (1878-1930/1933 I think). I would suspect if he is buried there he would be buried close if not next to his family:

Corp. Stephen W. Cook (1845-1912)
Martha (Mattie) D. Cook (1854-1918)

Bessie Cook (1880-1965)

Helen Cook (1910-1928)

Based on the Groton city website, everyone of Stephen Elmer Cook's family I mention above are all buried at this cemetery. I suspect that Stephen might have died at war but all of his records were lost in the 1973 fire.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your Memorial 103764176
Your memorial was created on 1/18/2013 which is a duplicate of my memorial #95402777 I made on 8/15/2012.

Find A Grave rules state that NO duplicates should be made, but corrections/additions/deletions should be passed to the contributor of the original for him/her to make. I always try to do all requests in a timely fashion as long as the information can be verified. If I can't verify the info, I then contact you to furnish verification, and then I make the corrections.

Please send me an edit(s) and then delete your tree.

Duplicate Memorials
I sent you some e-mails recently regarding several duplicate memorials that you have added. Did you receive my e-mails?

RE: Wilkerson at Ferguson Cemetery in Holden, Missouri
Unfortunately I am not too familiar with the 4-H program here in Johnson County. You might check with a Herb Best at Johnson Co Historical Society. If anybody would know - he would.

DAR records are the property of Johnson County Historical Society. I would suggest you contact them directly (

Regarding locating the grave site, I would suggest you put in a "photo request" for her as that would probably get a much quicker response.

I am ONLY doing research of the DAR records at the Historical Society & putting up memorials of those that are not on Find A Grave so that people like you can find your ancestors. I do not, at this time, do research for others.
