My name is Barbara, I live in the San Francisco Bay area where I was born and raised.|
I am a huge fan of the Golden Age of Hollywood, and the Actors and Actresses of that era.
One of my favorite past times is collecting anything Art Deco. Outside of family and friends my love is for animals and their welfare. I keep active on their behalf.
Find a Grave is a wonderful site to pay respect to those we love and admire, especially our Military Men and Women. My Dad was of our "Greatest Generation" in the Navy during WW2, his ship was LST334. The word HERO describes our Veterans. God Bless them always.
I want to thank my Dear Friends who have taken the time to leave messages and tokens for my loved ones, especially my Mom Ruthie. Your kindness has been a blessing to me and my family.

I am trying to find relatives of Nafie Batrony in the hope that I can find my grandmother's parents names. I am Joelle Berbary Flint. My grandfather was Nessem Berbary and my grandmother was Anna Sykes. I believe that her father was Assad Sykes, also spelled Saik or Saigh, and her mother was a Batrony. I am hoping your father can remember who Anna Sykes was and maybe who her parents were. He may remember my father Joe Berbary. I do remember the Rahalls and Sykes's at reunions. Also,My cousins and I all remember how fondly everyone spoke of Aunt Nafie! We also all wondered if they were Muslims - most of our parents were brought up in a Christian church. Our recollection was that our grandfather would go to pray with Aunt Nafie. We all grew up in the Elmira/Horseheads area, so we heard all these names as we grew up.
I received the findagrave information from Brenda Bomysoad, who is connected through our dna and who also happened to live on my street when we were children.
I hope you and your family are well and that we can communicate and sort out some of my mystery.
