|Cliff Dyar||Wiley Dyer|
Things can get confusing while researching family. The Wiley Dyer here is apparently the brother of my ancestor, Elisha Dyar. There were two other brothers, "Baldy" and William. Many researchers show their parents as James and Ann Dyer. However, none of the brothers are shown here as being kin to Wiley. Family tradition says Elisha was upset over the settlement of his father's estate because he received no real property and thereafter spelled his name "Dyar," in order to not be associated with Wiley and perhaps the other brothers. My family is from Georgia where Elisha eventually settled and died. We used to have family reunions at Adairsville, Georgia and one or more Dyer's from the Lafayette, Georgia area and elsewhere nearby would attend. There are "Dyer's" in that area to this day. Elisha served in the Revolutionary War, which is well documented. Baldy died while in military service in 1814. It is thought all are descendants of Patrick Dyar of Maryland, which might have some bearing on Elisha spelling his name in that manner.

I see you are akin to Rebecca Howell Laird. Rebecca is my grandmother Irene's baby sister. I am looking for any akin to the Howells. Especially if they're living in the Walton County Area.

Hi. I am a Maloney interested in what you know about William DeJernette Maloney who may have beeen in the Pendleton District o SC in the early 1800's. My earliest confirmed relative was a Samuel who also lived in Pendleton. Most of my interest lies in discovering Samuel's father/family!
There are some references to Samual having a brother, William, who moved to the Gwinnette County area in Georgis. But, the DeJernette name doesn't show up anywhere that I've seen except for your contribution to Find-A-Grave

Hello Mrs. Pattillo,
I have been researching the John and Polly Winfield Pattillo of Harris County, Georgia family line, because I live in their 1836 farmhouse near Whitesville. I know of their final resting place at New Hope Methodist and have found a lot of great information at the Columbus Public Library and through Ancestry.com. What I lack is actual family stories from the property, despite being in contact with a few direct descendants. I have also never seen a picture of John, his wife Mary "Polly" or any of their children. If you have any information on the Whitesville, Georgia Pattillo's I would greatly appreciate talking with you. firstname.lastname@example.org.
|Steve Wester||Lela Farrow Maloney|
Lela was my grandmother's aunt. A letter from my grandmother (Emma Lee Farrow Wester) states that Lela, her brother (John Adams Farrow), and her sister (Lucy Elizabeth Farrow Rush) were the children of Dr. Thomas Farrow of Camp Branch, MO. He and his wife died in 1858. His 3 children were brought up by his brother, Dr. William Farrow, also of Camp Branch, MO. Lela's memorial states that William & Lucy were her parents. Do you know where that information came from? I can be reached at email@example.com. Thank you for all the work you have done.
|seafarer2844||George Alexander Patillo|
I am a 5th Great Granddaughter of Martha Varner and George Alexander Patillo. I was distressed to find I had made a great big error with her parents, losing many generations I am loathe to erase but perhaps must, conceding that her parents are indeed Lettice Keys and John Varnor. So I am writing on the long shot that my Patillo cousin has come up with any additional information on her parentage other than the dead ends I find everywhere.
Do you happen to have a tree on Ancestry? I do have several generations farther back on the Patillos if you do not have them. I would be happy to share anything I might have.
Thank you for your consideration,
I'm Williams son Jeremiah.....John would be Jeremiah's brother.
Would appreciate info on the Fields. akfieldsATsbcglobal.net
