--------------------------------------------------

I have been doing genealogy for over 40 years. I have started to take pictures of area cemeteries (Waukesha County area) and I am trying to submit them to various sites. I also take picture when I go on vacation to other parts of the USA and Europe.

If anyone needs a photo (which has not been re-sized) or has any corrections or additions please let me know.

Lately I have been getting many, many transfer requests without the needed information. If anyone requests a transfer, use the EDIT tab and the transfer request must contain the following information: Relationship; Parents, Siblings, Grandparents And Great Grandparents (which does not include Aunts/Uncles/Cousins) and your Find-A-Grave Contributor Number. A transfer cannot be done without the contributor number. It takes up too much time for me to search out the above information.

My sister, Lois has been helping with the corrections and additions and also looking for obituaries. My sister, Julie is also helping with taking pictures.

No problem, happy to do it. We made a trip & I've always wanted to see the stone of my husband's folks so we took all the names that didn't have pictures & went through the entire cemetery. Wish I could have found Lucinda & Thomas Markee too.

RE: Earl Simon
Hi Nora:
I do have a few census, but I've been digging and I am beginning to think we have two Earl Simon with similar birth dates. Now I don't know what to think.

Yes, I am in WI, I currently do the ones that have a request as I have tried to do whole cemeteries but it seems they are pretty much covered by others around here.

Frank Nemitz
Good afternoon! I see that you have photographed Frank Nemitz's grave. My Grandma is a Nemitz from Austin Mn area. Her grandfather was a Frank Nemitz. He was married to Matilda Louise (No last name yet). It states in 1900 that she was a widow (with his supposed death between 1897 and 1900) but grandma says that he did not die that he left Matilda and that no one knows where he went. Can you give me any information that may link this Frank Nemitz to my family? He was born in WI as this Nemitz was- I wonder if he returned after he abandoned his family? THank you for any information that you may have!

RE: Lady Elgin additions
Hi, Nora,

You asked where John Campion, and John and Anne O'Grady were buried.

After the Lady Elgin disaster, John (memorial 178982097) and Anne (memorial 178982046) O'Grady's bodies were never found (as far as I can tell from newspaper records).

It's possible they were among the numerous remains found but unidentifiable and were buried as unknowns.

The body of Anne's brother John Campion (memorial 178982626) was found and identified at an inquest in Chicago. But I have found no record of what happened to his body after that. The family were all recent immigrants. So, my guess is that he was buried in whatever manner was cheapest. He may be in one of the mass graves or in a potters field somewhere. If I can ever find a record of where he was buried, I'll update his memorial.

Thanks,

Kathleen

Lady Elgin additions
Hi,

I found your Lady Elgin virtual cemetery and wanted to let you know of three more memorials that you can add, if you would like.

John Campion (____ - 1860) - memorial: 178982626

Anne Campion O'Grady (1827 - 1860) - memorial: 178982046

John O'Grady (____ - 1860) - memorial: 178982097

John and Anne were siblings of my gg-grandmother. Both of them, along with Anne's husband John O'Grady, were lost on the Lady Elgin.

Thanks for creating that virtual cemetery. It's a wonderful way to recognize those lost in that tragedy.

Henry A. Hengel & May Palen
Yes, Henry A. Hengel married my first grand aunt, Mary A. PALEN. I would love to have the information on the HENGEL family too. I could enter it into the familysearch, if it is not there already. I am retired. I love history too. I have the PALEN line back to 1700's, but not the HENGEL's. Thanks for contacting me. I have been working on my Daddy's line, the KONECNY's of Bohemia.
God bless you, Sally
