I live around Willard, MO. I am blessed with a wonderful husband, 2 wonderful sons, and 2 beautiful grandbabies. I got my passion for researching family history from my grandmother, Betty McQuitty Woods. Growing up, I always enjoyed going to cemeteries looking up names and dates with her. I loved hearing stories about contacts she made to learn more family information. She researched over 40 years. How I often wish she were still here to see today's technology and all the resources available! After her death in 1992, all of her research, letters, books and certificates she received over the years were destroyed in a fire so I am starting over. My family lines I am researching are: Cornog, Fields, Grant, Woods, Cretors, McQuitty, Brown, and Boone. My husband's family is Hall, Shelton, Long, Matthews, Swearengin/Swearingin, Doss, and I know there are others that I am still finding out about.|
If there is a memorial for your family member that I manage that you would like me to transfer to you, please contact me and provide your connection to the person and your contributor id number (without your id #, I can't make the transfer). I will be happy to make the transfer (unless they are my family). Please feel free to use any photos I have contributed in your family records or for non-profit use. It would also be great if you would give credit to Find A Grave because without them, we could not do what we do. I take exception to those contributors that hold a copyright to headstone photos. We are here to help each other and provide information to build our family trees.
I also serve as President/Trustee on the Rose Hill Cemetery Board (Willard, Greene, MO) and Secretary/Trustee on Hickory Grove Cemetery Board (Polk Co, MO). I enjoy researching for others, as well. My dream job is to be a genealogical researcher and I would love to travel to learn about where my ancestors came from and learn about their lives, but until that dream is achieved, I am an Independent Insurance Agent.
If you send me a message regarding a memorial, please include the cemetery name or memorial number, as I work with many memorials at numerous cemeteries.
I look forward to getting to know you all!
If you need to send me a message please email me for the quickest response.

Amy, thank you so much for taking the newer photo of John's headstone. It has helped tremendously.

I know you can't do any research at this time, but sometime much later and your looking at old records for Greene County, I'm looking for 4 of my great grandparents, Rev. Robert and Lucinda's
young children. He has them listed in his old Bible pages as being buried in Greene County, Missouri. An infant daughter, b. May 1868 and died at birth. Also George Marion Long, b. Mar. 4, 1875 and died in May, 1877. A daughter Rhoda A. Nancy Long, b. July 5, 1884 and died in Dec. 1885. A son, Robert Orlando Long, b. May 22, 1886 and died in May, 1888. I have checked several of the cemeteries, but have not found them. Any help would be appreciated. Again, thank you, take care. Phyllis 'Long' Rhodes

Amy, I am sorry in your loss, bless your heart.
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit the cemetery. I'm a Long family member and have
visited the church several years for the Long
reunion. Rev. George Long III was my great grandfather, Rev. Robert H. Long's oldest brother.
I have done research for many years, met and visited w/Wendell and enjoyed meeting all of my
relatives there at Rose Hill Baptist Church. I have also walked the cemetery many times too. However at this time, it's not possible to come up, I live in southern Oklahoma. Also in California a great deal, my husband has cancer and we go to Stanford for his treatments. Rhoda
was Rev. George Long III daughter, and she was married to George Neff. So the conclusion is she
was born in 1868, is this what you list? Are there many very old church records of long ago? At one time, Rev. Robert was also the preacher for
the Rose Hill I believe? It would be so nice to
have access to the old records. Rev. George donated the land for the Church. His oldest son,
Rutherford Long, who moved to Texas where he and
his family lived and he died there also, had given Rev. George a Bible. When his father died, it was given back to Rutherford and I have copies of the pages from it, with the family's births, deaths and marriages. I want to thank you very much for your time and trouble. Please know you will be in my prayers.

I'm so sorry, I meant her birthdate, 1868 not death date.

Amy, I see you have a picture of Rhoda Long Neff's tombstone on her memorial. Would you please look at the picture and see if it has her
birthdate as 1865 or if it's 1868? I have and it looks possible to be 1868. I have received an
old Bible page listing her death as 1868? It all most look's like it could be an 8? Any help would be appreciated, thank you. Phyllis 'Long' Rhodes,
a family researcher.

I am interested in the memorial at Clear Creek Cemetery for George Hinds, brother of John Hardin Hinds(also at Clear Creek). Growing up, I spent a lot of Sunday afternoons at Clear Creek as my family members would walk around, placing flowers and taking care of a lot of graves. I sometimes think that I am related to everyone at Clear Creek. Do you know anything about John Hardin, Roy,and George Hinds? John Hardin Hinds was my great grandfather. Any information about him and any of his descendants would be deeply appreciated. There are a lot of his descendants in the Springfield, MO area, but there are a lot of his descendants that I have never met. I would like to contact them. Please contact me if you have any info about this family. Thank you so much. Brian
