Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born in 1958 in Burbank, California. My family returned to Grand Rapids, Michigan when I was three years old. At the age of 18 I became a genealogist and since that time have found 786 ancestors and thousands of cousins. I have located 171 ancestral graves using findagrave.com. I began teaching high school history in 1991 which I still do. I married Marie Gingrich on October 13, 2001 in Cocolamus, Pennsylvania. We have two Children, Elizabeth and Henry.

I am sure you are right, but I don't even know which memorial the photo is on right now, and I can't find the photo.

I have a photo which is labeled John Watts. I don't have any reason to think it was labeled wrong

RE: James S. Masxon (#78483500)
Hello Kirk,

I suspect that the date is erroneously transcribed (the photo is completely illegible) and will wait to hear from you. Also, if and when you get a correction will you please point me to a source that identifies the children of Daniel Maxson; on a cursory search yesterday, I was unable to find that information.

James S. Masxon (#78483500)
Hi Kirk,

I'm going to decline your edit because there's no way James born ca 1785 could be the son of someone who died in 1762.

If you discover that the transcription of the gravestone is wrong and that Daniel Maxson died later, please send me another edit as well as a source that indicates Daniel was the father of James Maxson. In that event, I'll be happy to make the edit.

Rev. Wm. Crocker Burial Site
Hi Kirk;

While searching for grave sites in Libera (West Africa) I came across your entry for the City Cemetery of Monrovia with Rev. Croker as one of the only two individuals buried there.

I'm not sure where that cemetery would be or exactly where Rev. Croker was buried. Available records show that the burial site of preference back then would be the site that was eventually incorporated as the Palm Grove Cemetery Company by an Act of the Liberian Legislature in 1870.

Liberia's first president - Joseph J. Roberts (1809-1875) is buried there, along with a number of other individuals who died around the same time as Rev. Croker. In other words, it's quite likely that Rev. Croker is actually buried at that site show here: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gsr&GScid=2184783

The government of Liberia is in the process of renovating and preserving Palm Grove Cemetery which reportedly will include a "memorial wall" with the names of individuals important to the founding and development of Liberia. The Palm Grove "registry" would possibly be used in developing that list as there is no other registry.

I would highly recommend that, until such time as Rev. Croker's burial site is confirmed otherwise, his Find-a-Grave file/page be transfered to that site. If there's anything I can help with please don't hesitate in contacting me.

Best Regards - Earl Burrowes, Sr (eburrowes@me.com)

RE: Brubaker family graves
Hi Kirk, Please use the "Edit" option to enter the plot location of the graves. I am not sure which Find A Grave entries you located. Have a good new year, Leo Shelley

Lloyd Gingrich and I (KIrk Vredevelt) went to the actual burial place today. I took photos and coordinates. Please enter these on the Find A Grave site.

Thanks again for all you have done for Find A Grave.
