Genealogy has provided a way to connect with family I never had the opportunity to meet. It's been a hobby of mine since 2000. My ongoing research consists of the surnames Garrett, Bennett, Neal, Pickett, Furkin, Spencer, Brooks, Winsatt/Wimsatt, Wilcoxson, and Boone. My prayers will always remain with the men and women of the United States Armed Forces. May God bless our servicemen and servicewomen, their families, and our veterans.|

She is my maternal grandmother. She married John William Mettling in 1913 in Clarksville, IN. and they had two children - Dorothy (my mother)(1914) and Lorena (1919). First child was Laura Edna Troxel (1908)(husband #1), next was Alice Beatrice Voight (1910) and then John Cecil Voight (1911) husband #2. Cecil is buried next to my grandmother as John Cecil Mettling. Dont' know why he is under Mettling.

Hi Sonya, I was wondering why you left a "Do not add a cemetery photo on this site" to the site I set up and did have the cemetery picture in there. I don't understand?

Hi again. I just noticed the obituary you added has her daughter Evelyn's married name listed as "Harris" It was "Harth" - her husband was Selman Harth. Aunt Hazel's youngest son, John Wayne Riddle, was buried Saturday, 11/1 and I just returned home from Louisville. Thanks again.
I traveled to Resthaven Memorial Cemetery in Louisville KY to photograph the gravestones for my family. However, when I tried to post one on Find a Grave for my stepfather, I was unable to due to your note not allowing any.
Please tell me the reason for this note.

From what I have been told by my birthmother, this is my dad. Do you have any more information on him? Are you related to him?
Hi Sonya. I claimed a search 10/20 for Alice Akridge b.1858 d.1922 at Penn Run. I have walked the entire cemetery (both sides) and could not find a marker. Would you have any info on her? If so go ahead and post it if you do. I do not mind. Thanks.

Hi. She was my aunt. Her birthday was June 12, 1907. Would you care to transfer her site to me so I can link her to her parents, etc. Thanks. If there is a special reason you do not want to transfer her, I will understand and I will give you her parents #.

Thank you for your kind note on Kubaugh memorials in Eastern for I appreciate! There is absolutely no need for you to apologize. Also, please know that I did not request transfers and cannot account for them. Actually, I cannot recall, but don't think I requested. Anyway, I am distantly related and am hopeful that you are okay with the transfers.
I've encountered the name spelled so many different ways…which is so often the case. Your efforts to get in touch with me and offer help are much appreciated. I say: Welcome back to Findagrave!
