My interest in cemeteries began when I started working my geneology after my father passed away. Walking through cemeteries, looking for relatives, all became addictive! I see these headstones and wonder about the families, the lives they lived and about how many people that are looking for them just as I was looking for my own relatives. Hopefully, somebody will be helped by a name I added just as I was helped by others here.

If you see errors or have suggestions, please let me know.

Also, I abide by the FAG transfer rules. If you are a direct relative (by FAG definition), I will transfer. If not, I will consider on a case-by-case basis.

Thank you.

Sallie Dudney Pippin Pharris Photo
First thank you for the photos you have done! Sadly the lady who put the site on has died. I am having problems sorting the information as If Sallie and Hiram were married in 1911, it would have been tough for her to have died in 1900. But the date can't be read in the photo and I didn't know if the original may have been more detailed or if you might know any other information for her. Her site is https://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=18303822. Thanks for any information!

Margaurite Compton Glisan
Hello,
I was wondering what documentation there is for Margaurite to have a maiden name of COMPTON?
For several years she was listed in every tree I could find as simply Margaurite (or a similar sounding name). No last name or birth/death information.
I come back to working on the family tree after a several year hiatus to find she purportedly has a maiden name of COMPTON and corresponding family information to go with it.
Several of the trees I found the info on are linked to this cite as a reference.
Any information you might have would be appreciated.

Thank you,
Michelle

Re: Laurainey "Rainey" Scott, Scott # 53568978
Laurainey (her maiden surname was Scott & she married Mr. Foster Scott) therefore her married & maiden name were Scott. Laurainey's daughter Telitha Scott married William Leroy Brown, Sr. You have Telitha Scott-Brown's parents listed as Calvin Heady (1837 - 1924) & Nancy Stafford Heady (1848 - 1925.) Telitha Scott-Brown's parents were Foster Scott & Laurainey 'Rainey' Scott-Scott. Telitha Scott-Brown's memorial # is 53568490. Mr. Calvin Heady (1837 - 1924) & Mrs Nancy Stafford Heady had a daughter named Telitha Quima Heady her death was 14 Aug 1944 in Logan County, KY. This Telitha Quima Heady married a Mr.(William Thomas?) Allen. Regards, Sheilah

Cindy,
Thought I'd mention that the dates on this headstone are from the "old style" Quaker calendar. That means that "1mo" is actually "March."
The calendar is as follows:
OLD STYLE NEW STYLE
(Before 1753 the QUAKER (After Jan 1, 1753)
year began
in March)

March (before 1753) 1st Month January (after 1753)
April 2nd Month February
May 3rd Month March
June 4th Month April
July 5th Month May
August 6th Month June
September 7th Month July
October 8th Month August
November 9th Month September
December 10th Month October
January 11th Month November
February 12th Month December

I hope this helps.
Regards,
Robin

Unknown at Sacred Heart
I stopped by today at Sacred Heart in Pleasant Valley in Centreville Virginia. There is a footstone with the grave and the initials I think are J.S.. It is unusual to have a tablet and footstone for someone in the 1900's. Could this have been the first burial which I assume is Schneider. Best regards, Joel Daviod

combine to memorials same person
You have two listings for Earl Glenn Stafford, probably because he has two tombstones.
Find A Grave 55141010 has his veterans gravestone and
Find A Grave 55180490 has his civilian tombstone. You might want to combine them.

Fannie B. Rogers
Fannie's name is partially blocked out in the tombstone picture. Her name is "Nannie B. Rogers"
See: https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:JLWR-S27

Also, I added the obituary to her husband's site (which you did) and also has her name as Nannie Rogers.
