Bio and Links
Bio Photo My interest in family history began when I was about 10 as my great-aunt shared some of her work with me. My mother also worked on our family history for about 20 years (without a computer)but she is no longer able to see well enough to continue. I've picked up where she left off.

I'd be happy to transfer memorials of your relatives. Just ask.

Mary Lou,

No Margaret was never moved. She has been in Red Church Cemetery since 1864. I added her memorial and photo in Find A Grave, and was physically there, in 2011. You added another memorial at Saint Pauls Lutheran Cemetery in 2014. Connie Moore Andrews and a group of others, cleaned the stone at Red Church Cemetery in 2016 and posted a picture of the cleaned stone on Find A Grave. Put both photos side by side, look at all the other markers around it, same picture, Red Church cemetery. I also have written documentation which I will not post here. Thank you again for your help in correcting this error.

Hi Mary Lou,

Just another quick reminder to delete this memorial as it is in the wrong cemetery. Thank you again.

Benjamin Dill Photo
You have the picture of Benjamin Dill on findagrave posted with the incorrect Benjamin Dill.

The picture belongs to Benjamin Dill the son of Andrew Dill and Susan Franklin.

The Benjamin Dill you have with the picture is the brother of Andrew Dill father of Benjamin Dill who is in the picture.

Elizabeth & Annie Tipton
Hi Mary Lou. I might have corresponded with you several years ago. I found your working copy of the Tipton research extremely helpful last week when I was in Carroll County. It is possible you have updated some of it since I last visited your site.
I am a Wagerman descendant through Elizabeth and Noah Wagerman's daughter Elizabeth Tipton Rush. I would like to know your thoughts on the stone in the Cherry Grove cemetery supposedly for Elizabeth Wagerman Tipton and her daughter Annie/Mary Ann Tipton Cook. Where are their husbands? (Noah Tipton and Jacob Cook.) Also, the 1900 census shows Mary Ann/Annie still living as a widow, with her son William. So how could she have died in 1894? Also, the birth year for Elizabeth Wagerman Tipton is generally thought to be 1799. Why the mistake on the stone? I'm hoping you can help straighten this out in my mind. The only Tipton death certificate I could find at the Mt. Carroll courthouse was for Elizabeth Noble Tipton. My grandpa called her "Aunt Lizzie". (Her husband Noah was his "Uncle Noah".) I have a photo of my dad about 3 yrs. old on a plowhorse at "Uncle Noah's" whose farm was up in Woodland Twshp, far northeast corner of Carroll County. Thanks for your thoughts on these folks.

RE: Cork family
Hi Mary Lou - I apologize, I didn't realize that you are a relative of Charlie Cork. So many memorial creators are not relatives, and I didn't think Charlie had any, at least not any active in the Find-a-Grave community. You'll see that I took the liberty of adding two photos to Charlie's memorial yesterday - one of him at age 2 and one of his mother, Ocie Anna (Smith) Cork, which is the only photo we have of her. If you would like to link Charlie to his mother, her Find-a-Grave memorial is #166814279. I knew my grandfather, Sam Smith, very well and he always spoke very fondly of Charlie. Sam was a bachelor when Charlie came to live with the Smiths and was his surrogate dad from the time Charlie was a baby through age 14. I grew up hearing stories about Charlie and feel like I knew him too. Best regards, Gregg Prillaman.

I found her. She is next to her son Leonard. They were below a good 2" of dirt. I did the best I could to clear them off. James.
