"We want Find A Grave to remain a place of respect and remembrance, just like a real cemetery." The object of Find A Grave is to document burials, not make it a repository for details more appropriately posted on a genealogical website - or in some cases, better kept in your own private notes. |
On occasion the Declined Message feature does not function. When that occurs, if you do not have a valid e-mail address displayed or if you have messages disabled, you will not receive any additional information regarding a declined suggestion. You may contact me directly for further explanation. My e-mail address is displayed below.
Please do not send suggestions based on unsourced entries found on an Ancestry tree or other genealogical website.
Please don't ask for a town name to be added as a birth location when a birth clearly occurred in a rural location, regardless of what might have been written later, following the misleading practice of naming a nearby town. For example, I have received suggestions to add a town - before the town was even laid out. We pay the greatest respect to early residents by accurately noting where they were born, lived and died. If you want a town name as a geographical point of reference, you can keep that in your own records.
Familiarize yourself with the guidelines outlined in the "Help with Find A Grave", linked at left, particularly those under the Working With Photos heading:
--Can I add a photo that I found on a different website?
--Someone posted my copyrighted photos! How can I get them removed or get them properly credited?
--I found a photo of a relative on Find A Grave, can I use it?
The above questions and answers are in agreement with standards approved by the National Genealogical Society
Unless otherwise stated by the contributor, no tombstone photographs taken after 1989 are in public domain. If you are creating your own family tree on another website, please respect the copyright of the contributor.

Thank you for the transfer of #94036721, David J. Hobbs, my great-grandfather. Maintaining his profile will assist me while I complete my familial lineage in the U.S.

Thank you for bringing Catherine's memorial to my attention. You were correct that she was still alive in 1880...I checked the cemetery records and it was 1886-a simple typo. It has been corrected. Many thanks again!

|RANDALL Ewing||MCKAY CEMETERY GRAVE SITE|
MARCIA, I VISITED MCKAY CEMETERY AT BURNSIDE,IL IN HANCOCK COUNTY. I WENT TO VISIT THE GRAVE SITE OF CHARLES EWING AND JACOB EWING THIS YEAR AND THEIR STONES HAD BEEN REMOVED AND THERE WAS NO MARKERS LEFT TO MARK THEIR PLACE OF BURIAL. I KNOW THAT YOU DID A WORKUP ON THEIR GRAVE SITES AT ONE TIME. ALL OF THE TOMB STONES HAVE BEEN REMOVED FROM THAT AREA OF THE CEMETERY. CAN YOU GIVE ME AN UPDATE ON THEIR GRAVE SITES?

|Ivan Keithley||More children for Lenora Larson Snyder|
In addition to Scott Miller, Lenora had three other children:
Paul W. Miller - b.1936, d.2008
Lloyd W. Miller - b.1928
Martina Miller Thorman b.1932
Birth years for Martina and Lloyd are calculated but very close, I'm sure.
Thanks for all your good work in this area.
Hi Marcia, hope this finds you well. I've been taking care of elderly parents and haven't been doing a lot of genealogy.

my uncle was buried in Glade Cemetery in Blandinsville, Il, his headstone pictured shows he died September 26,1982 but the find a grave says he died on the 27th?? do you know which is correct?
Thank you. I decided to follow your advice and go with the dates inscribed on the gravestones. I'm not related to the Mulhalls so if you are I would be happy to transfer the memorials.

|Jacki Klawonn||Vernon Vogler|
You are just simply the BEST!!!
THANK YOU !!!
I am assisting the Vogler family with their genealogy work and was real excited when we found two missing babies which you had created memorials for, Dorothy Luan Vogler #181404941 and Frank Vogler #181404613.
Can I please ask where you found the information for them?
But we are still missing another baby, Vernon Clarence Vogler born February 24, 1913 in Missouri - probably Adrian, MO.
Any information which you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
If you would rather e-mail me, my e-mail is firstname.lastname@example.org.
And thank you ever so much!!
|JAB||Elizabeth Allison, Memorial# 150142771|
I was excited to see your memorial and the possibility she is buried there at cemetery with son William Allison. I had created one for Elizabeth Hall Allison as I am descended through William Allison and Margaret Eakle. I got a D.A.R. supplemental approved for my mother for Patriot John Hall through Elizabeth Hall. Where did your information for death date come from? Any updates on verification process of her age?
