My grateful thanks to Findagrave for providing a place to preserve our cemetery headstone data. Thank you to all the wonderful individuals who contribute not only their time and energy but expense in locating and transcribing cemetery data. Here we can help preserve the memories and images of our family and friends, and we help strangers to us but not to those that find their family and friends among these web pages.
I encourage corrections and/or suggestions for updates. Any edit requests may take up to a month to make but most are completed quicker.
Most memorials I add are works in progress and I am always looking for links and additional information about them. Let's never forget our family and friends. Please leave flower tokens so I can tell that they have been visited.
Please consider setting up a virtual cemetery for your family members. Any memorial can be entered into this virtual cemetery so you can have all your family together. Having someone in your family genealogy is not grounds for a memorial transfer. With thousands of contributors, there are many overlapping family trees and it would be impossible for all contributors to manage their entire tree.
Currently live in Walker County Georgia. This web site has helped me find many places I have been looking for. Thanks Find-a-Grave.
Researching Bishop's family from Magee / Mendenhall, Simpson County, Mississippi and Jones' family from Ellisville, Mississippi.
My Bishop family line is me, Walter R, T. Melvin, T. Webster, T. Spencer, Josiah, and Ezekiel Bishop. The "T" stands for Tillmon, Tilman, Tillman, etc.
My Jones family line is me, Margaret Ella, James Robert (Jim), and William Calvin Jones.
I am also interested in the Bishop line female spouse surnames of Sellers, Harvey, Sullivan, Warren, and Street.
I am also interested in the Jones line female spouse surnames of Carney and Stephens.
My husband family names include Craig, Howard, and Morris.

You gave me a smile and a chuckle.
|Barbara Rodgers||My mistake|
I made a mistake on mother link for 111604470.
I sent an edit to correct it.
|Douglas Calvin Day, Jr.||Christopher Columbus Sellers|
C.C. Sellers was my great grandfather. Ina Little Sellers was my great grandmother.
I was told C.C. lied about his age to be able to join the Confederate army as a waterboy. He was pretty old when he married Ina Little whom I met when I was a child in the 1960's.
Willie Sellers was my grandfather.
I never knew C.C. was married twice before marrying Ina.
I noticed Willie's birthday was listed 12/25/1911. It was actually 1912.
Thanks for the great information!
Got your message and did the edits.... strange, wasn't that?

We went to do an engraving in the Shiloh that was on highway 49 (just south of Magee) and I checked findagrave before we went (of course) and there were only 4 memorials listed. So I took photos of everything. When I went to upload, I discovered that there were memorials for some of them, but they were showing up in the Shiloh Baptist that is in Covington County (out on hwy 532).These two cemeteries are not all that far from each other and I use to get them confused all the time!
The contributors who created the memorials that were in the wrong cemetery were so nice and made corrections immediately. Just nice to get it all corrected for the future.

You are so sweet! BTW, do you know Carolyn Hebbe McLeod? She requested a transfer of a memorial and I think that she has Bishops in her line. My old brain just remembers seeing some names in her (and her husband's) lines that made me think...could be related to Myrtis Jane.

|Robert Brotherhood||RE: Elizbeth Bishop Sullivan # 47210962|
98.5% of the 881 Elizbeth memorials with a gravestone photo had to be corrected to ElizAbeth, and I think most of the others should be ElizAbeth as well. Elizbeth is not an official name on birthrecords - generally.
Thank you for adding the photos!! I appreciate it! I understand your time is very short when you are down in Mississippi. Thank you very much for all you do!!

No, we are not related.
Well, my object is to make the memorial findable for people searching: Would anyone search for Elizbeth? Or for Elizabeth, which probably is her proper name.
As Find A Grave's search facility does NOT list memorials with alternative spellings, the record will NOT be found.

Thanks Myrtis for catching that I had the photo on the wrong Helen Sullivan!
