If you contact me, please take a moment to say hello, good morning, or hey how are ya. On occasion I get "suggest a correction" notices that are brief, abrupt, and unfriendly in tone and seem more like robot communication than actual human beings. It's a personal pet peeve and I don't react well to those sorts of messages. A little simple human courtesy goes a long way with me.|
I research my family history in southwestern and south central Pennsylvania for the most part, although I live in northeastern New Jersey. Counties of interest include Bedford, Blair, Franklin, Fulton, Somerset, Westmoreland, Cambria, Fayette, Washington, Indiana, and others.
PLEASE: If you request an interaction with me, whether to discuss a memorial or request a transfer, please do not be "Anonymous" and not provide any means to contact you. I recently had someone request a transfer but when I tried to contact the person, was told that the submitter was anonymous and there was no way to leave a public message for him or her. I'm not comfortable with this method of communicating. Thanks.
PLEASE: If you write to me via "Suggest a Correction" PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE provide me with evidence in the form of some kind of documentation for any edits you'd like me to make. This is especially true if I don't already know who you are. It's not possible for me to simply accept what someone out of the blue tells me is valid without sources, documentation, proof or some other compelling argument. Sorry to sound like a grouch, but that's just the way my work goes.

|Me||John D. Gates birth year|
Thanks for the image of John D. Gates' head stone and for sticking your neck out by sharing so much information that you have found. It's so helpful for us beginners, and motivates me to share whatever I eventually find that's new.
Just a note to say; nothing wrong with what you've found, but I suspect whoever had the new headstone of John D. Gates produced made a mistake with his birth year. All the census show that he was born in 1859, with the most telling one being the 1860 census which shows he's only 6 months old.

I suspect whoever had the headstone made found it difficult to make out the year from the old one. Still, it's great to see the marker at the place he's buried. Thanks again for sharing the photo.
all the best,

I'll send you a word when I have finished uploading pics/creating pages. You should be able to make lots of inter-generational linkages! I have to slog through another 1,700 pics, so you won't get the all-clear probably another two weeks.

You're very welcome.
|Albert Ledoux||RE: Greenlawn|
I completely canvassed Greenlawn with the camera last September, and am just now getting around to posting the pics. If you requested any others from this cemetery, I hope to deliver!

Hi, would you please remove the scanned obituary photo from Charles memorial? I added the information into his biography section instead.
Thank you for the obit.

You're very welcome and I think I may have a few more to add on and if I do I'll also transfer you to them.
They aren't my family.

I wasn't too far from it, actually...lol
I added the obit you posted to Elizabeth’s memorial 72659080 to the bio side so that it can be googled and gave you credit for it. May I ask you to remove it from the picture side?
Thanks again for sending her obit and all the work you do.

Clarence J. Smith is also relative of mine. This is a clipping that I have but I found the same one on Newspapers.com It was in the Chicago Tribune on Nov. 21, 1976.
