RE: Rebecca Croyl
Hi Brenda, I have not yet found a/the connection among the Johnstons. I have worked in the past with some other Johnston researchers. If you would like to know more about your Maffit side email me at I have William Maffit's Bible [Rebecca's grandfather's; it went William Maffit - William Maffit - Rebecca Maffit]from the 1790s.

Brenda, I have located (and unburied) the headstone for Sarah E. ROUTSAW at Oakhill Cemetery. I am uploading the final picture to her memorial. If interested in further details concerning Sarah I have added more pictures and some basic information to my website at

RE: Charlotte Kegley
Charlotte M Kegley, was the daughter of Andrew G Clarke/Clark and Andrew' 1st wife Delia Fielder. After Delia Fielder death, Andrew G Clarke/Clark married Elizabeth Comer D/O John Comer.

Charlotte M Clarke/Clark married David F Kegley on July 20, 1853, Grayson Co, VA.

David F Kegley is my brick wall... his marriage index to Charlotte did not list age nor parents, or if he had been married before. And I cannot find David in any census, before his marriage to Charlotte. Unless he is the Davie Kegly (Kegley) listed in the household of William and Zella C Murphy Headrick in 1850, Tazewell Co, VA.

David F Kegley was born about 1830, VA. He is listed as Daniel Kegley in one census... on the death record of one of David and Charlotte' children David was listed as David Franklin Kegley.

If you find or have anything on David would you please share with me.

Sorry I could not be of more help. If I find anything I will be sure and share with you.

Alice Dawson Grave
Brenda, I searched for the grave of Alice Dawson in the New Garden Cemetery, near Elkmont, Alabama, for several hours, without success. I founds several graves with the surname "Dawson", but none of them bore the given name "Alice". I will be back at that cemetery again in the near future, and will look again while I'm there. In the meantime, please let me know if I might be of assistance to you again.

I have over a thousand pictures of this cemetery in Allegegheny County in Pittsburgh area. I see that you have some relatives here. I need help in setting up memorials for some of the pix if you have some time. I will send you an invite and you can memorialize some of them.
thanks Bill

Thank you
I am grateful for volunteers like you who are willing to volunteer their time traveling around the cemeteries and taking photos. Often there will be an obituary and other vital information about our families. Without Find-A-Grave many of our relatives would be unknown.
