We've always enjoyed strolling through cemeteries and admiring the "art and history" found on the tombstones. Now our hobby of geocaching gives us opportunities to visit cemeteries all over the country. We try to snap at least one or two photos at every cemetery we visit and post them on this site. We're proud members of the Indiana Spirit Quest, a group of geocachers who focus on Pioneer Cemeteries and the veterans buried in them. We're also involved in cemetery restoration.|

I put together a page for Evelyn at WeRelate that contains as much as I found out about her in the last day or two and includes links to the family members I was able to identify. Please feel free to link to this page from her Find A Grave memorial page by entering
- For genealogical info, see: Evelyn Fenton
in her bio box. If you'd prefer that I do it, I'm happy to accept a transfer of her page.
I have a special fondness for Capitol Hill as my ancestor Eli Pitman is buried there. I have created WeRelate pages for some of those who are buried there and will continue to create more. I would be happy to also post the information that your group collects on these folks. Please just let me know if you'd like to add anything.

Thank you for checking on this burial. I agree with you that she is buried at Capitol Hill and was simply missing from the lists I had consulted. I am preparing some information about her for you and will try to have it done by tomorrow. I am very interested in the project your group is doing.

Could you double check the cemetery for this Evelyn Fenton? I think she might be listed in the wrong cemetery as she does not show up on any of the historical readings for Capitol Hill Cemetery in Cambridge City, Indiana that I have checked. Last burial there was abt 1931.
Thank you in advance for your help in keeping the info straight,

|S.R.F.||RE: Mary Scott Bannister Death Certificate Info|
Thank you...It said April 26th, but if you go by the obit, she died April 28th.
And the birth date in the obit is a year different than what is on the grave marker.

What is a tombstone birth date calculator?
Here's another discrepancy: After I wrote to you, I received two more Hints, an Indiana Death Record and an Indiana Death Certificate. Both of them say she died 26 Apr 1907. However, the obituary clearly states it was published on TUESDAY, MAY 2nd, and that she died the previous FRIDAY. So, Monday was May 1st, Sunday (the day of the funeral and burial) was April 30th, Saturday was April 29th and FRIDAY, the day of her death, was the 28th, not the 26th.
These two documents listed her as Mary K Scott Banister, but her daughter, Anne (Anna)'s marriage record to Charles Ray Siebold listed the bride's mother as Mary MAY Scott and the bride's father as Oscar Banister.
NOTE: SCOTT was her maiden name. You had it entered it as her middle name, but I corrected it.
Oscar Banister remarried to Bertha Mae Tracey in 1916. I think there is another memorial for him with her. I will have to check later. If so, these two memorials need to be merged.
