When I was researching my own family, I received a great deal of help from complete strangers who were willing to help me without asking anything in return. This my way of paying that forward. So it tickles me beyond words to discover my headstone photos as part of someone's family tree. How sad would it be if after all the photos are taken and posted and researched and documented that no one looked at them or cared that they were there. So to those of you who have found my photos and made use of them, thanks for caring and you're most welcome.|
I feel that its important to say at least a little something about each of their lives. They lived, they loved, and had families. For those that have nothing there, they're not forgotten, I just haven't gotten there yet. And while I don't always cite my sources on each memorial, for Long Island special thanks goes to Carolee Nichols Diamond and David Roberts for their unending patience and wealth of information; the transcriptions and family photos of Elbert N. Carter; George Moraitis, Historian for the Cedar Hill Cemetery, Port Jefferson (R.I.P. my friend); Steve Gill from the Patchogue Cemeteries Restoration Committee; Dan Prunty, Ruland Funeral Home and President of Cedar Grove Cemetery, for his patience and tireless trips into the basement.
If you find something that needs correcting, or if you have information you'd like added, please use the SAC and I'll be happy to make the changes. If you need to contact me, send to aislin at optonline dot net
(p.s. Nastiness and rudeness will be ignored completely and any correspondence will be deleted without further thought.)

|Teresa||John W Albin|
Hi, John W Albin born 1824 in Brookhaven, Long Island is my 3rd great grandfather.
I was thrilled to see a picture of him on 'find a grave' after starting my family tree on ancestry.
My question is what is the source of the photo? And if you have more info on him that would be great! Thanks so much.

Dear Aislin, you will never know how comforting it was for me to see my Grandma's burial site. She died way before I was born and as child I was never able to visit her grave. Thank you so much, you inspired me to become a finder. I hope I can bring happiness to someone as you have done for me.
|darylandsusan||Alonzo Wood Losee|
I sent an edit correction for both parents of my relative This Losee family were all buried on Long Island I'd accept the transfer if you'd like to send it to me. Thanks in advance for taking the time to correct so that the proper family is connected in memorium as they were in life

Thank you for the beautiful memorial you created for Maybell Blackford. The time you took to enter her obituary information is much appreciated by her family members. She was the sister of my great-grandmother and I would love to manage her memorial if you are willing to transfer it to me.
Thank you in advance for your consideration...

|Karen Williamson||Margaret Bertie Sullivan|
I was delighted to find this information on Margaret Bertie Sullivan, as she was my maternal grandfather's second wife.
My grandfather was Austin Aloysius Sullivan, and he died 09 July 1945 and is also buried at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Sec. R - Lot 71 Range 11.
Thank you for your work,
Karen Zubrod Williamson

Thank you so much for contributing her obit! Nothing makes me happier than being able to bring a memorial "to life". Thank you for taking the time and effort to share this.

I think this person may be of interest to you.
She is somehow connected to the Terry family. She is buried in a lot that has four of them in it.
There is no tombstone for her but you could call Green-Wood and maybe they could tell you what the connection is. Also note Charles and his wife, buried in the same lot and PVT Edwin and Edwina Terry, also there.
You already know about them.

I have a cemetery that is not listed and wanted to ask you how can I added it?
|TAY JEFFERIES||RE: The Nichols Cemetery|
There are only 2 other headstones and I did upload them. Thank you so much, I really appreciate your help. I am also going to upload a full view inside the cemetery. Thanks again!
