The index is now ready for distribution - contact me if you want a copy of it.|
I have spoken to the Poughkeepsie Journal (owned by Gannett Publications), who referred me back to their newspaper where is stated that all obituaries, pictures and information MAY be used by the reader in whatever way they wish, including reproduction for reposting electronically in part or whole for publishing. With this in mind it is my notification that I do have permission to post the obituaries I have placed on memorials and ask that they remain.
I am currently working on putting together a book to include the over 3,000 obituaries I have located for family members with indexing and cross-referencing. This project will probably take up most of my next few months, but I will still be posting here on Findagrave as I discover new family members. Anyone interested in copy of this book can contact me at my e-mail address. Since it is looking to be a large book, I may split into two parts: men and women.
I have been researching my family tree for about 30 years now, and just started really going through graveyards looking for family members about 20 years ago. I have found more information on the internet in the short time I have been researching here than in all the time I spent in libraries, courthouses, and town halls. I will be taking pictures of gravestones of as many people as I can and adding to local cemeteries and findagrave.com over the spring, summer and fall of 2016. If anyone has a family member, that I have added to this site, to yourself (who is not a direct family member for myself) please let me know and I will be happy to transfer ownership to you. I'd would rather have family members maintain memorials than a stranger who has no connection, but I feel no burial place should be neglected or forgotten. If there is someone or a graveyard you wish me to find for you in the Columbia, Dutchess and Ulster County areas let me know and I will add it to my travels. My hope is to do a complete census of as many cemeteries as possible over the next few years.
Another note: for old New York newspaper articles you can use Fultonhistory.com. They have papers from the 1700's to 2000's. You can search for family members there.
One more note: I hereby give permission for all to use photos I have posted. I feel that if these are your family you have as much right to add them as I do. You do not need to ask, and I do not require you to attribute them to me, unless you wish too. It is good to find loved ones and I am happy that if I have found yours for you.

Patrick, You are doing a wonderful thing by posting information on the Internet.
We went to Union Cemetery today (in the rain) and found Frank Killmer's headstone. It is on the north side along the fence. We took pictures, but the stones need to be cleaned, so we will go back and clean them and take pictures and send them to you.
Thanks again for all you do. Keep up the good work.

I was wondering if you would transfer ownership of Joseph A. Testa (1918 - 1993),Memorial# 95232557, over to me. This is my husbands great uncle and I am in the process of making webpages for the ones who do not have them and seeing if I can get the ownership of the ones who have made ones, such as yourself. Thank you so very much.

Hi. I did not add the photos to Robert L. Fister's memorials. I only created the memorial.
Member Catskill123 added the photos so you will have to ask him to delete one of the photos. Or you can send an email to email@example.com and maybe they will remove one of the photos for you. I am transferring Robert L. Fister's memorial over to your care.

I have it on my list to visit this cemetery as I have ancestors there, myself and I see that someone reported not being able to find Nellie's TS. I know the guy who head's the cemetery association and he said that "All of our burial records are filed with the Town Clerk of Rhinebeck. Cremations are not filed." I hope that helps a little? -skh

I'm sorry, but I added an obit image to the memorial and missed the image type 'other' therefore it was cataloged as a grave photo. Then I promptly got a "thanks for fulfilling Arthur's request".
Yikes. I don't know, will you have to resubmit the grave photo request now? My bad, again I'm sorry for causing the confusion.
My 3rd gr-grandmother is Elizabeth Tater, b. abt 1805 in Dutchess Co., NY. She married Andrew Stickle in Manorton (livingston) Nov 1825. I have been at a brick wall with Elizabeth for abt 20 years. I found out her maiden name less than a year ago, now). Would you happen to have info on her?
Her children's names match, ironically, to the children of Stephen Lewis Teter(buried Rhinebeck) and also a David Teator of Taghkanic. I know this is no way of finding relationships but I am grasping at straws here!
Any help is appreciated!
