Bio and Links
Bio Photo Please DO NOT look at my contributor numbers as a FAG hoarder... those numbers are due to hard work, photographing completely local cemeteries and adding data for you to locate your ancestors. My area does not have a local historical society, so I do this so YOU can find your family ancestors !!
********************************
DUPLICATES: ONE of my BIGGEST pet peeve is duplicate memorials!! PLEASE LOOK FIRST by doing a thorough search before you create a memorial. Type in the name in the search to see if a memorial already exists. Be cautious of first and last name spellings.
HOWEVER: if YOUR duplicate was created AFTER mine, FAG policy is that the newest duplicate be removed. So, in all fairness, if you would kindly remove your duplicate.

I have created memorials from local obituaries that do not have a burial placement. {Very common these days with cremations and no burials}
Findagrave does not offer a lot of selections in their 'drop down' tab. The tab for "unknown" most often fits the category.

What has happened is that often times at a later date, a volunteer has located a grave marker in a cemetery that they have photographed, created a memorial; BUT a previous memorial already exists... created but categorized as "unknown".

So, when some one has created an "unknown" burial,.... and the later one appears, .....WHICH ONE STAYS????

I had been asked to delete my original "unknown burial placement" from the creator of the second memorial (that was later located in a cemetery).... WHICH ONE STAYS????? My solution,..... contact FAG administrator and request a "merge" of the two memorials.

What should have occurred, is the two creators work together. Put 1st memorial into the proper cemetery; have 2nd creator post grave marker onto the 1st memorial, then delete their duplicate. If there was a whole lot of data on both entries, request the merger via FAG administrator.

FAMILY LINKS: I feel it is important to link families.
I am happy to link family members when you request by using the 'Edit' tab.

Before I approve an 'edit', I try to validate your information before I click 'approve'

If you want information added to a memorial, go to the memorial and use the "suggestion" tab to send me the information that could be added into the "bio section" of a memorial.
************************************************
TRANSFER MANAGEMENT: If a memorial is of my family, I will not transfer.
I don't mind doing transfers, but one time had a FAG member request a transfer of ALL of the particular name from a cemetery...like about 18 of them!!!!!! That is way too extreme and not necessary.
For your extended family members, you may consider adding Virtual Cemeteries to your contributor page.

RE: Anonymous name
Hi,

I'm sorry, I didn't realize it was coming up that way.
My name is Mary and all the info I sent was to hopefully link all the various family members together. I'm related to the Oakeson's, Bandows, Erickson's, etc.

Also, Ole Dahlgren is also a child of Eric Anderson #120443386

I really appreciate all the great work you've done. You've certainly done a huge job. If I still lived up there I would have loved to work on this with you.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me.

Thanks again,
Mary

Emma Fischer Strehlau
Hello, I need for you to make a correction on your memorial for Emma Fischer Strehlau and for Amelia Fischer Zieghan. This memorial # is 100069024.

First of all, you have attached the family of Johan George Fischer and Christina Miller Fischer and their children: Maria, Leo, Louise B. Harry, Karl Theodor, John George, Frederick Willard, Amelia Christine, Albert William, Oscar, Robert E., Joseph Arthur, and Benjamin Butler to Emma's family. Emma and Amelia Fischer Zieghan are not part of this family. Everyone keeps putting Amelia Fischer Zieghan as a daughter but this is not correct. Their daughter was Amelia Chritine who married a Wedell. This family was in Wisconsin as their first son was born there but they moved to Lexington, Lafayette County, Missouri about 1857 as they are on the 1860 Census there. If you would like to discuss this you can contact me:

Henry Richard Wagner
Hi. It looks like to me he's buried in Wisconsin, even though his obituary reads: "Cremation rites were accorded and burial of ashes will be in St. Clement's Cemetery."

One of his son's (Stephen) lives in Silver Cliff, Wisconsin so they must have decided to bury him there instead of at St. Clement's. Another son (Paul) lives in Chillicothe, IL, not far from Dunlap. I hope they didn't bury him in two places!

I'll go ahead and change to Silver Cliff Cemetery. Thanks for the catch!

If you hadn't put his tombstone on findagrave I wouldn't have known where he was, so thank YOU.

Charles B. Cassetty and his second wife
An announcement of the approval of a divorce decree for Charles and his wife Hattie appears on page 12 of the Reno Evening Gazette dated 12 March 1943. It seems that Charles immediately married his second wife as a notice of a marriage license appears on page 10 of the 13 March 1943 edition of the Reno Evening Gazette. There is a Nevada marriage certificate #157305 filed by Rev. Brewster Adams, Baptist Clergyman on 15 March 1943, Page No. 339.

James N Nutt obit
Thank you for your diligent work, and for sending me James Nutt's obit. Your F A G work is incredible. The following is not your fault because I know we both dislike publishing errors but sometimes I guess we have no choice. The obit states the "Mackinac Bridge in Sault Saint Marie." The Mackinac Bridge is at the Straits of Mackinac, the International Bridge is at Sault Ste Marie. I guess only a family member could fix this one. Thanks again for your great work.
