We should bear in mind that when our photos are uploaded to Find A Grave, they are reduced in width & height so that they fit in a smaller area on the Find A Grave page. (It doesn't appear full-blown unless it's clicked on once or twice.) Yet a 5 MB photo takes up 10 times more space on their servers than a 500 KB photo does, even though it looks about the same on the page. So let's be considerate to Find A Grave and upload photos in the 250 KB to 750 KB range. (They only ask they be less than 8 MB) Thank you.|
Most of the memorials I created, I did back in 2007, taking their name, dates, burial place from a Brown County, Kansas cemetery list. I'm not doing that anymore as others have taken up that process and are whizzing right thru it. May be close to complete for Brown county. As of late I've been working on updating my memorials one at a time. Looking for their obits, locating them in censuses and linking them to family.
On another note:
There was a one-page article in the June 2011 issue of National Geographic about the number of people who have ever lived on earth. After much research American demographer Carl Haub estimated that 108 billion people lived (and died) between 50,000 B.C. and 2011.

I just looked at the duplicate for Miles Housh and the cemetery is listed as Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Hiawatha. The photo I took of his stone is definitely in the Hiawatha Cemetery, not Pleasant Hill......so not sure how you want to handle the merge.

Sorry about the duplicate on Miles Housh. I no longer have that photo on my computer, so maybe you can request findagrave to merge the memorials? Someone has added a lot of info to the one I made, so merging would ensure that the links wouldn't be lost. Thanks for finding the duplicate--Marla

Hi, Keith. Are you related to Hannah Morgan Walters? I see that you have posted a photo of her.

Hi Keith, Sorry about the 4 duplicates I created. I have deleted them, thanks for letting me know about them. I am photographing the entire cemetery this summer and adding memorials when needed. Thanks again--Marla

Just wanted to let you know that you have posted a photo on the mother's file, rather than the daughter's.
On Find A Grave Memorial #19499216, Mary (Heise) Doner, you've tagged a photo of her daughter, Mary Louise (Doner) Wideman - Find A Grave Memorial #26147240. I supplied the copy to David Byer, whom it looks like you got it from. The original was a wedding pic for Ralph & Mary (Doner) Wideman from Boxing Day 1900.
In addition to the pic, you may want to add links, which I am unable to do from this end. So, the daughter Mary Louisa (Doner) Wideman is #26147240. Her mother, Mary E. (Heise) Doner is #19499216. The daughter's husband, Ralph Wideman, is #26147245 & they married 26 Dec 1900. As for the Dad, John B. Doner married Mary E.(Heise) 11 Jun 1878 in Markham, but I have found no grave for him, so I can't link him in. John B. & his 2nd wife, Sarah 'Sadie' (Meyers) Doner were killed in a car accident in California on 01 April, 1936.

Fred - I am so sorry that I am just now seeing this and responding and THANKING YOU for your time and effort. This IS my Great Uncle and Aunt and information very much appreciated. My only defense is that my husband, who is now in need of my help pretty much 24 hours each day, leaves me little time for doing the genealogy. I will print and save this information which I could never find on my own. AGAIN - THANK YOU.

You have posted family info on Find A Grave for John B & Margaret Cain from Parnell, IA. Their daughter, Margaret (known as Leona) was my aunt. I have added her as the child of John B and Margaret. For more info check out the Find A Grave memorial for Aunt Leona.
Thank you for all your work to help others find their families.
