Native of North Carolina.|
I became interested in family history in May 2010 when my mother's sister passed away. All three sisters had passed within three years! It made me realize that the older generation was leaving and if I wanted to know more about our family, I better start asking questions! I got very interested in family history and discovered that I really enjoy visiting eastern NC cemeteries, taking pictures of headstones, and figuring out who the people were and if/how they were related to me. I focus on Martin County (my dad's family) and Wilson County (my mom's family).
I am a member of the DAR. John Jackson Morgan Sr of Nash County, NC is the first Revolutionary War patriot I have been able to prove my connection to.
This hobby (obsession?) has been a real blessing in many ways. The best part is meeting relatives I never knew I had, and becoming friends with some of the most wonderful people I've ever known.
When contacting me about a memorial or photo I have added, PLEASE INCLUDE THE MEMORIAL NUMBER.

HAPPY FRIDAY !!!
my wife was Debora and a DAR. Morton was the kin.Not the signer, the brother.
We are three people searching through the cemetery records, etc for Veterans. Recently, we expanded into photographing all of the stones.
Because of the immense work involved, we are looking for volunteers who could help out in many ways. Researching, typing, photographing and eventually physically locating the interred VeTs. If you are any like minded people out there would like to help, please contact me.
By the way. In 2010, there were 450 identified Vets. Today, +/- 850. On paper, 1400 ! in a 26 acre cemetery.
Thank you for submitting the headstone photo. His memorial has been moved. Thanks again. DMA.

|Henry Edwards||Edwards, John Henry|
Hello, I ran across this entry on my grandfather, i am trying to find out more on his father, John Henry Edwards and mother, Susan Catherine.
I would like to know if their are any records on John Henry Edward's mother and father. I have no further info past John Henry and his wife. Do you have any other info like this?

Ok. I certainly wish you had better news for me, but thank you anyway. Is it safe to visit? I have heard it's in a really bad neighborhood now!? Oh, and, by the way...I also have a Morgan in my family. He actually died at Gettysburg.

Hi! Thank you so much for posting this information. Henry Melville "Harry" Lee was my great great grandfather. I am currently researching to discover as much information about him as possible. My family has been eager to know our Lee lineage for years. Please share with me any additional information you may have as soon as you can. I will greatly and forever appreciate it! In particular, I really want to know Henry's father's name. By chance, have you seen his obituary?

I am looking for information on Sarah Brown who is mentioned in Memorial #91766400 as the mother of Claudia E Brown Williams. Claudia was my great grandmother, mother of my grandmother Daisy Easter Williams Smith, born November 2, 1910 and died July 1, 1998 in Maryland. Thank you for posting information about my family and their graves in Bear Grass, North Carolina , enabling me to find more information about them.
