Find A Grave's mission is 'graves registration'. |
Please specify your relationship when requesting transfers. I am no longer transfering outside the Findagrave guidelines.
Due to the growing popularity of the website I have been getting multiple transfer requests for the same memorial from several different contributors. Trying to determine who should get the memorial is becoming difficult for me.
Find-A-Grave Policy on Transfers
Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations, this would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents. Keep in mind that the original contributor may also be related to the memorial and may not want to make the transfer.
I am always happy to make corrections and add links when asked.
You have my express permission to copy my photos from Find A Grave and use them on other sites. Attribution is appreciated, but not necessary.

|Alexander MacLellan||Donald R. MacDonald # 102386862|
First, I greatly appreciate your tremendous work which has been very helpful to me. I believe the subject Donald R. MacDonald d. 10 Dec 1885 is a case of mistaken ID; he is not the spouse of Rachel MacPherson. her husband Donald MacDonald is most likely the death registered in 1889 at Ailsa Craig ON (Death Schedule ref:010761). Their last child Kitty Mary Ann MacDonald was registered on 10th Sept 1888 at Ailsa Craig. Donald MacDonald's 1st wife was Margaret MacLellan, my great grandfather's sister, they married in North Uist, Scot. 1861, had 5 sons, emigrated to Canada 1872, Margaret died 1873. Donald returned to North Uist and married Rachel MacPherson, immediately returning to Canada where they had 7 children. The 1881 Census Ailsa Craig ON records Donald (52), Rachel (32) plus Margaret's 5 sons and Rachel's 3 sons as a combined family. Sorry it's a bit long-winded! A simple un-linking of # 102386862 solves the issue. Many thanks, Alexander.

|MooreToots||RE: James F. Burris @ 21491261|
I didn't want to make any waves, please forgive me.
As for myself, I never saw the Obit our 'James' or did I see anything else for that matter, but personally, I would say, that the Civil War Draft Card / Registration, and being young as James F. Burris was back then, he was smart and bright enough to those people, to give his age, the month and year he was born... so, I would consider that, a very legal document, if nothing else.
|MooreToots||James F. Burris @ 21491261|
My calculations say that our 'James' was born in 1837 according to his Army Enlistment Date of 1863 @ the age of 26, and not 1840...., or did I miss something here?
Sorry, and GOD Bless!

Hi Ms. Mayfield,
I am the administrator for the FB page, Stories of the United States Colored Troops. I think you may have the wrong cemetery/tombstone for Lt. W.D. Matthews of the United States Colored Troops. I do believe he is buried in the National Cemetery in Leavenworth, KS, not Fairview Cemetery in Riverdale, KS. Can you please check?
Hello, I am writing (from France) to inform you that the birth name of Marie Zoé Stephenson was ESCALLE and not D'Escalle. She was my great aunt born in France and emigrated to the USA in 1910.
Thank you to rectify if you can.

Good day Judy. Some time ago you found the grave site for me on Clara Z Purkapile. I need you to add something for me to her site. Clara Is not buried there. She was a ward of the Oregon State Hospital in Salem, Oregon and when she passed in 1961, her ashes were NEVER claimed. I just found this out and we are trying to claim her ashes now and get her out of there and try to send her home to Kansas to be with her family. And if you know of anyone who might help us to see who we might send her ashes to Kansas, and to help them get put with her family and headstone it would be great. WE will pay for any cost that might come about. She is what they call a lost sole and it just ripped my heart out when I found this out.
