I am a Mother of five, a third order Franciscan Sister, and a retired science teacher living in Ludington, Mason County, Michigan. |
I have just finished photographing Rickey Cemetery, Amber Township. I apologize for the quality of the photos, many of its stones are not readable. Also it got very cold and started raining. Normally I like walking in the rain, but this was cold and you can tell by chopped off photos. I will try to get back when I can.
I will continue to transcribe and clip old newspaper death notices from the Ludington Daily News archives. I am creating a digital file of these for the local library and am adding them on this site for your personal - family use, feel free to copy my work for that purpose.
Hope it helps.
By the way, I am very happy to transfer memorials that are not of my family. Of course if they are closer related to you, yes. The memorials should be kept by family.

I have updated Henry's memorial.
Henry used is middle name throughout marriages and census records. This is why I added quotation marks around "Oliver."
|Pat Terrill||Your work|
I am so indebted to you! Thank you for all that you do, and for sharing your information so freely.
|Steve||RE: Jan Gouin Kisselberg|
No, I am not related to her. However, she created a memorial for someone in my family tree ~
Cecil Baublit,Jr. - his birth mother was my grandfather`s cousin (their mothers were sisters)
I was in contact with Jan on several occasions regarding this person and his family. I have pictures in an old family picture album I have not been able to identify and perhaps his family might have some they could match up to mine. Steve

I used your info to work up a short bio for Dolores. Let me know if you would like to add anything. I'm also happy to transfer if you would like.
|Robert DeVowe||RE: your name|
The last syllable is pronounced Vo with a hard o.
I descend from Michael Deveaux who arrived in Nova Scotia in the late 1600's. When the English, in the 1750's expelled the French, my line (DeVeau)ended up in Quebec. Mid 1800's (Devoe)NY then Michigan. Spelling change to DeVowe by one generation of kids because a teacher told them that is how they should be spelling the name. The family was living in a area with a lot of Dutch, and may have had a Dutch teacher, that may be why the "w". Just a thought.
