|Have researched my ancestors since 1975. Historian for The Doughty Family Association for many years and held offices in several genealogy societies. For anyone searching ancestors taking a genealogy class is a must. Another help is to join a genealogy society in your area. Information you find needs to always be checked to make sure it is correct.Willing to share information on my family lines with others. I have never been rude to anyone and hope I always remember to thank others who have helped me. Families of ALLEN ASH BUSH CARTER CHILDRESS GOODRICH DOUGHTY/DOTY EVELAND GARDNER HURST LADD LIKE/LIGHT LANGS MARSH HURST WALKER WEBSTER FOX WAMPOLE MORTIMORE SEWARD SHELBURNE STILWELL SOPER STATELER BENNETT WEBB to name a few. |Sandy||Warren Walker Calhoon|
WW Calhoon was my ggg grandfather. I've had trouble verifying his father's father to be Samuel Calhoun (b. 1740 IR--d not sure). Any info here? Thanks so much for the stone picture. Thanks.
Also, still looking for info on Warren's daughter-in-law, Jane Bell, married to Augustus Newton Calhoon. Dead end right now.

Thank you for your edit. I can't find his middle name easily on line. Do you have a source for his middle name that I can cite on the memorial with your name as contributor? Also on his wife's memorial he is listed as "Major" do you have information to add there?

Have other pictures but I bet you do also. Larry Lou was quite a gal--liked her a lot. She married my cousin Mike Crocker, so that is the way she was related. We always tried to get to her mother-in-laws (Mike's mother) home once a summer so kept in contact. I remember one of the baseball games we had there in the side yard with all the kids and cousins--good memories! Miss them all a lot!
In the Omro Cemetery is John/Jonathan & Solomon Stateler. The plot is owned by a G. Statler. Any idea who that might be?
I added a few more pics to both their Find A Grave memorials. There is also a War of 1812 Marker...another Stateler?
I remember my cousin Alice telling me there was another Stateler buried there in unmarked grave. Possibly a wife or two also.

|Eileen Clements||RE: Duplication for Rebecca O. Hendershot|
I'm so excited to hear from you, Eva. As I have been researching my family roots, I have come across your name and the info you have provided. I know how thorough you are, and that I can trust the data I find contributed by you.
My mother's maiden name is Violet May Wampole. She married Lawrence Peter Kastel. Her father is John Jefferson Wampole, son of Thomas Jefferson Wampole and Catherine Van Scoter. Thomas is the son of Daniel Wampole and Margaret Fox. Which Wampole are you connected to?
For several years now I have been searching for photos of my ancestors and posting them on Family Search. I've been trying hard to straighten out my line on Family Search which has proven to be a huge task. My mother is still living at 94 years of age, in Wisconsin. When I visit her I try to visit with some of her cousins as well. Where do you live, Eva? I have lived in northern Utah for the past 50+ years, currently in Smithfield, UT.
I will definitely follow up with the lead you gave me on Peter Eveland and Rebecca Ophelia Hendershot. Thanks so much. I look forward to hearing from you again.
|Eileen Clements||Duplication for Rebecca O. Hendershot|
What can you tell me about the two Rebecca Ophelia Hendershots, one born in 1751 and the other born in 1781? In Find a Grave, each are listed as married to a Peter Eveland (father and son) born in the same years as Rebecca. I have researched this for some time and come up empty-handed.
P.S. Our lineage follows the same lines, i.e., Wampole, Doty, Fox, etc.
As you can see, I finally got around to making the trip to Mountain, WI a couple weeks ago. I see there is one Statler I missed (Otha) but I might have it, but it's missing? Next to Burns, Stephen & Ann....there is a small cement square that HAD a funeral home marker in it...the funeral home marker is gone and just the cement lies there. This could be Otha? I'm going to dig for the pics I took 10 yrs ago when I made the trip and see if I have that same photo with the funeral home marker in it.
Thanks for the edits! I was having problems with my FTM program so I uninstalled it....now my drive won't read the disk so I can reinstall it! Go figure! So until I get FTM back on the pc I don't have access to any of the info.

You're very welcome. I was drawn to his memorial because he's in my family tree (distantly related), but mostly because I saw he had left flowers on his grandmother's memorial page. When I checked further, I found, sadly, that he had passed away. I'm very sorry for your loss. I felt that sponsoring his memorial was my way of honoring him and his service to our country. I wish I could have met him.
