Thank you Janet for the photos of Officers Branhan and Marks. Was I mistaken that they were side by side? If so, sorry to mislead you. Those red granite markers don't photograph or read well do they??? People like the color but don't realize how poorly they show up.

According to a cousin, who did research also (and where he got his info, I don't know) Eliza's mothers name was Sarah (Murray) Smith and she was born about 1802 in Maine and died about 1857 in CA.
According to my great grandfather, who wrote to his youngest child. "Your grandmother, my mother, sleeps on that same western shore. She was buried by her daughter in 1858-1859 (I am sure that he meant that her daughter was buried by her mother) You have many kindred there whom I have never seen, some of them may be still living at Oakland, Alameda, Vallejo or San Francisco. Your grandmother is buried at Alameda. Her daughter was the wife of John Sedgely".
She may not have a stone, as I see in the memorial that you created for Eliza there is not a stone for her..................

A message of gratitude for the work you are doing helping people connect with personal history. Of Della Anne Garner, I'm a descendant. A heartfelt thank you is sent your way. Thank You
How is it you have given attention to her? She was on trip away from Oakland to Sacramento when she died unexpected.

Thank you for making memorials for John and Eliza Sedgley. According to my grandfather, who was a brother to Eliza, their mother is buried next to Eliza. Is there a stone for her?
