RE: Thomas Dickey Johnston
Hi Again
I tried one last time this morning and finally found the Thomas Dickey Johnston Obit.

San Antonio Daily Express, Friday Morning, March 28, 1890.
Seguin.
Seguin, Tex., March 27.--Colonel T.D. Johnston died yesterday at the Magnolia Hotel, of which he was the proprietor, and was buried at the San Geronimo cemetery at 4 p.m. with Masonic honors. Mrs. T.D. Johnston has been very seriously indisposed ever since the death of her sister, Mrs. Minter, who died on the 13th [illegible]. Since yesterday evening she has been quite prostrate.
If you would like me to send you the newspaper articles for Thomas and Catherine, let me know.
Maggie

RE: Thomas Dickey Johnston
Hi Chris
You and my husband are related. I do have your gg grandmother listed in our tree. I noticed that in the 1870 census (Widow) her occupation was listed as "Hotel." Any idea which one? I've been researching the Calvert/Johnston connection to the Magnolia Hotel & it's history.
I have good news. I couldn't find the copy of Thomas' obit, which I had done some time ago. I think, it wouldn't print out so I just copied the wording. I then spent the better part of the day trying to find it again. I didn't find that obit but did find 3 articles--that he'd had a stroke; an update that there was no improvement & article about his funeral. I can scan each of these newspaper printouts (not very legible) and type up the wording & send it to you.
The good news is that I found the article about Catherine Kennerly's burial--31 Oct 1905 at Riverside Cemetery, Seguin. My husband had been looking for her & Thomas at San Geronimo Cem when he visited last year, but she's buried at the same cemetery as her son William. It included a little bio. I couldn't print it but can write that up & send it to you also.

Thomas Dickey Johnston
Hi
Thomas Dickey Johnston was my husband's 2nd great grandfather. Per his obituary in the San Antonio Daily Express, he died 26 Mar 1890 at the Magnolia Hotel, Seguin, as the result of a stroke, and that he was 80 yrs. old. He owned the hotel.
I was wondering if you could share the source of the dod as 1888?
Thanks,
Maggie

Thanks for looking for the marker of J. Cathcart. It has been hard locating most of our Cathcart family. Thanks again. Janice
