I am a historian both personally and professionally. I have loved history and museums since I was a little girl. I also enjoy researching my family's genealogy when I can. Two of my 5th-great grandfathers were John Gillon of Cabarrus Co., North Carolina and William Nisbett of South Carolina who served in the Revolutionary War. I am always interested in getting to know "cousins" no matter how distant. I am a descendant of the Nesbit, Johnson, Grantham, Albritton, Strahan, Hampton, Perkins and McGehee families on my father's side and Vinson, Taylor, Roberts, Carson, York, Capshaw, McKinney, Bell, Gillon, Nisbett, Hill, and Young families on my mother's side. My ancestors settled in Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia and later migrated to Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Tennessee and finally to Arkansas--specifically Johnson County in the Clarksville, Knoxville, and Lamar areas and Cleveland (formerly named Dorsey) County in the Kedron, Rison, Rowell, Pansy areas. I am always interested in learning more about my ancestors and in working to further "complete" our family tree. Being a historian, I also just enjoy cemeteries--especially ones with unusual and artistically interesting markers.|

I was wondering if you could send me a private email directly thru email so that I could email you back privately. I have a question to ask you about the Texarkana Museum/RE: The Smith Family. I know you used to be the curator there. I can't get this info. from the museum. They have not been able to help me. I'll explain in a private email.
Thank you so much.

Thank you for getting back with me. I understand what you are saying about that Smith memorial. I think it was Olivia's or her mother's memorial. Anyway,... thanks. I got your message. It's all good.
|Stacy Gill and Lee Jones||RE: Roberts info|
It's no problem at all - Thank you for replying. I have seen and gotten info from your tree. I didn't know it was yours at the time. It has given me a lot of great information. Thank you again for all of your help.

Very welcome, I was happy to do it.
|Stacy Gill and Lee Jones||Roberts Family|
Hi..My name is Stacy Gill. My maternal Great-Grandpa was John Samuel Roberts, son of Samuel J. Roberts. John Samuel Roberts is also related to me through my father's side of the family after marrying my Great Uncle Joseph Everett Mross' widow. I would appreciate any info you can provide to me about my Roberts family ancestry especially any concerning John Samuel Roberts, his first wife/my Great Grandma Della (nee Curtis) Roberts and their daughter Daisy. John and Della also had a son Daniel Ralph Roberts aka Ralph and a son William Ford Roberts (my Grandpa). Thank you!
Will delete duplicate shortly. Would you like the marker photo transferred to yours?

Hello, I am going to try to fulfill your photo request within a week. Farley was my great uncle and i live only about a mile from the Cemetery. Are you related? If so, How? We could be cousins. Looking forward to fulfilling your request and learning if we are cousins. Check me out on Facebook if you have it. SheliaKayBreedingBall.
|St. Hogustine||Arkansas Roberts family connections|
I'm seeking the father of my Great-Grandfather, Will Bart Roberts, (11/1/1887-7/28/1974). He's buried in New Hope Cemetery, Cleveland County, AR. Census records and draft registrations state that his father was born in South Carolina. Will's dad died when he was a child, and his mother remarried in the 1890's.
Unfortunately, the local marriage records for the right time and place were lost in a fire long ago.
I suspect that Will's father was Samuel Roberts(abt. 1865- ), son of Reuben F. Roberts. Do you know anything about Samuel that would confirm or disprove this possibility?

Melissa, are you "babysibber" on ancestry? I just found the note you referenced! Sure does say that Lewis Roberts was grandfather of JESSE Roberts of SC, one brother named John. I love she wrote Nickie Roberts, Baptist preacher from Virginia -- hard to think of the Elder Nicholas as Nickie! I'm going in & making change to Lewis Roberts as father of Nicholas C. Roberts. Still don't understand why Nicholas C & Mary Floyd Roberts didn't name a son Lewis....oh, well. Thanx for staying on top of things. I'm 5 weeks post-op from full knee replacement surgery - came home Saturday from rehab. Still "foggy" but got to keep busy & what better way than "digging up bones!"
