Genealogy has always been a love of mine that time did not permit me to enjoy. I am now retired from education and able to spend time learning more about the history of my family as well as the state of North Carolina. As a beginner, I have much to learn, but am quickly learning the ins and outs of searches. One of the hardest things I am finding is when I visit a family cemetery and find the graves forgotten. A recent such incident was that of a revolutionary hero that helped establish the area where his cemetery was located. So very sad.|
Please feel free to use pictures I post to help you in building the history of your families. If you find I have posted any information inaccurately, please notify me as soon as possible so I can correct the information. If you can add to information I have, please share! I am always looking for actual pictures of family members. Those are so very precious,so please share.

I am so sorry that it is in that condition. My dad is 85 and could not go across a pasture anyway. Thank you for the information.

I am an Austin (direct descendent of Jesse Austin) and am so happy to see the information. I plan to visit the cemetery with my father soon.

Hi, just to let you know that this is a duplicate of #103048009 created on January 3, 2013, under the name of Waitsell McDonald Galloway, Sr. (He changed his given name from "Wartsel" to Wade.) The photo associated with the prior posting shows Wade M. Galloway, as you have it and as he was known. He was my husband's grandfather. I have not notified the original poster of the duplication.

My mother was a Ledbetter. Many of her family are buried in the Ledbetter Cemetery in Stanly County on Ledbetter Ford road. They all descend from Joel & Lydia Keaton Ledbetter. See Find A Grave for them.
I also descend from Elizabeth Jane Austin who married John Stanly Smith, son of John Exum Smith and Nancy Lilly Austin.
Thank you very much for listing this cemetery and it's people. I have information on all of the Austins. I wonder about P. W. Ledbetter and have not seen or heard of him before now. I am related to the Austins and Ledbetters.
AMAZING pictures from the Austin cemetery! Wow - I can't believe it and the condition. Thank you for helping to preserve it!
