Retired for a few years and loving it,but lots of time on my hands. So, family tree research helps fill the void. I'm researching names Ford, Myers,Lane, Rooks, Ruark, Holden, Gober, Standard,Standiford, West, Harned, Cranor.|
I ran across this interesting law in the state
of Texas. Chapter 711.041 states, "the public has a right to ingress/egress to all cemeteries
for the purposes of visit". That is also to say that once "a cemetery...ALWAYS a cemetery" (if bodies remain in the ground). Furthermore, Texas law Chapter 711.052 makes violations of
Chapter 711.041 a Class A misdemeanor. Food for
thought as you and I go out to research cemeteries and run into individuals with an attitude.

What I am about to ask is most unusual to say the least. My husband bought me an anniversary gift about 12 yrs ago of an antique silver charm bracelet with a bunch of different silver heart charms - all are different. Some have enameling, some with flowers, symbols of professions, etc. With the bracelet came what I would call an ankle bracelet with two hearts with the initials E.M. and on the back the name Elizabeth Meadows. He bought this at an antique store for about $300.00 and I would love to find out who she is and about her life and how these ended up in a store for sell instead of being handed down in the family. I live in Ft. Worth, Tx and am assuming (which you don't do in genealogy) the family may have lived around here. I did find a Mary Elizabeth Meadows born 2/3/1932 to a Van Oliver Meadows and Willie Mae Standard out of Kilgore, Gregg Co., Tx. I am 73 and would love to find out anything. I know I am just taking a stab in the dark but - who knows, right! I saw the family photo you posted and was hoping this was the right family. Thanks for listening and hope I hear something positive from you if you are tracking this family heritage.

Hope you remember Joel. Looking through things, tracking burial of William Augustus Wagnon, 14 March 1862, Morgan Co. Ga. died 21 July 1899 in Jackson Co Ga. Supposedly buried in Commerce City Cemetery, no such cemetery. Did a search of Wagnon burials in in Jackson Co. found W B Wagnon Find A Grave # 26491773 that has all of the correct dates for W A Wagnon including wife's dates also. Noticed you let your calling card. Wondering about your thoughts on this.

Thank you so very much for replying. I'm very excited about learning as much as I can about them and your grandparents as well! I've found some interesting information about Tom and Minnie, but I'm looking for confirmation, which is hard to do. I have visited a couple other web sites and have come across information that appears to conflict with each other.
I do not remember ever seeing a photograph of either one of them, so I would be most grateful to obtain anything you may have on them. One photo I've seen identified as Minnie, has also been identified as Nancy Mary West.
But, first, I wonder if you would mind taking our conversation to another venue, such as email or phone. I'm just as interested in finding out more about yourself personally, too! I realize the value of doing that here, but I would prefer to use another means. My email is posted on my bio.
My Grandfather and mother were Rube and Rhody Mae West, and my father and mother were Delmon R. and Vicki L. West.

I would like to connect with you concerning Tom and Minnie West, who are buried in Eastland, Texas. They were my great grandparents and I've seen you have some interesting facts about them. I recently visited their grave sites for the first time and I would like to learn more about them.

Thks so much for the info.....always grateful when someone fills in a gap on a memorial....thks again...
|SR Strickland||Rooks heirs|
I'm trying to track down any living, direct male heirs of Earlie I. Rooks.
E. I. was my past wife's grandfather. My wife, Beverly Diane Rooks' father was Eugene Fuller Rooks. I have something that belonged to E. I. and would like to return it to his family.
If you can help me please respond to "email@example.com" or here on Find A Grave.
Thank you in advance,

How great! I too have found a wealth of info on findagrave. Just posted several photos I had of Tennessee cemeteries for everyone. If you look at James Henry's father memorial, Josiah Ford, you will find that someone placed a completely new headstone on their grave. Am trying to find out who did this and thank them. The original was in pretty bad shape but still readable. Amy trying to confirm Josiah's father and mother and keep going back.
We recenetly were in Thayne Wyoming for 2 months and I found requests for photos for their cemetery there so I took what photos I could find. Am also working on a book for the library there about the cemetery including photos and obits, etc. since not everyone has access to the internet and are not able to walk the cemeteries but come to that area looking for people.
I love genealogy and love it when I find a person or info that someone is looking for.
Keep in touch. Kay Morgan Fischer (my mother was the Ford in the family.)
