It is with heavy hearts and profound sorrow we no longer have Mugsy.

"Oh heart, if one should say to you that the soul perishes like the body, answer that the flower withers, but the seed remains." -
Kahlil Gibran.

“The Moving Finger writes: and, having writ,
Moves on: nor all your Piety nor Wit
Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line,Nor all your Tears wash out a Word of it.”
Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam

O, yes we trust that somehow good,
Will be the final goal of all.

Being a "graver" is an enjoyable hobby for us, not a competitive endeavor. "Collecting" memorials and garnering large statistics counts is a juvenile attitude.
Our goal is to eventually transfer every memorial of which we are not related to those who are. Really! We can't take them with us...

We are pleasant people, always happy to make corrections when politely requested with confirming documentation.
Rudeness or overbearing attitude are never tolerated, and any such messages will be "shredded". Based on unsavory prior exchanges, we prefer to no longer communicate using our personal e-mail; please use Leave Public Message to contact us. If you need to communicate with us "privately", you may use the "Suggest A Correction" feature on the memorial of Mugsy Oliver Maxwell our dear companion.

Lewis C VanAtta
Hi Ladybug! First thank you for the time you put in gathering info for Find A Grave. For those of us who are not able to go to these places it is wonderful that someone shares the info.

I did want to make some corrections to the listing for Lewis C VanAtta (spelled Venatta-only two family members spelled it VanEtta and that was his brother Frank and James). Lewis as far as I know never married. According to Civil War Widow Pension paperwork (for Sarah Matilda (Hale) Venatta - his mother) he was born May 25, 1862 and passed away according to Illinois Death Index Oct. 19, 1937.

Lewis was not the father of Rev. Leo Bicknell Venatta. His brother Bert was the father of Leo. Leo's mother was Almeda "Meda" Bicknell Venatta (1st wife of Bert) and Meda passed away when Leo was only 1. Leo and Beulah (Ozee) Venatta married August 21, 1918 according to a newspaper clipping I have found.

Again thank you for your time! Dee

Hi Ladybug

I was happy to hear from you and find out that you knew the Stowers. I hadn't intended for you to transfer management. I never had the pleasure of knowing them. I wonder if you would be willing to share any stories/info with me. It's a long story which I would share in private. My email is

I'm sorry about your fur baby.

RE: Losey
Thank you. I heard from the person maintaining the memorial - he says the date came from Grove Cemetery. Thank you for your time.

Catherine Ridgeway Losey
Catherine is my g-g-g-grandmother buried in Grove Cemetery, Kenton, Hardin Co, OH. I am curious about the 1865 death date because she was listed on the 1870 Census. As the creator of this memorial, are you able to shed some light on this? Thank you for your time - having looked at your 'statistics', I can see you are very helpful to many.

@};- Thank U for your kind visit to my son Tim, this past Sunday, July 9th. I truly appreciate it.

I couldn't help but notice the photo on your profile of your cute little Mugsy Oliver Maxwell. I don't know if U have a Memorial set up for your sweet pet. If so, I would love to visit that honor to this adorable dog. Pets are so very special to all that have them.

God Bless U Ladybug in being a comforter & Blessing to all on this Find A Grave site & all that have contact with U. Blessings always to U & your loved ones. Thank U again for your lovely visits. ~ 288/1 Sun., 9:23 AM EST.

Thanks, Ladybug, for the grave photo in El Paso. I've just submitted an edit to add the middle name. (He was the widower of my great-grand aunt & then married her niece.)

You & I corresponded in the past about memorials in Chappell Hill. ;)

Thank you for the info on Lucio G. Petrocelli's dates of military service, they have been added to his Mayflower cemetery memorial.
