Bio

I began seriously documenting tombstones in 2000 mostly for use in my personal genealogy research. The Bellville Baptist Cemetery (also known as Herndon or Bethleham) in Hamilton County, FL, was the first complete cemetery I documented, publishing a booklet that includes pictures of the tombstones, a map of the cemetery and transcription of engraving if possible. I have completed a couple others since and have a few more in progress. I have begun documenting Evergreen Cemetery in Bushnell, Sumter County, FL and currently have pictures of the older sections from the western edge up to the carillion tower but I am still trying to find the time to transcribe them.

NOTE: I grew up in Bushnell, FL, granddaughter of Ralph F and Florence Beville Collins. I attended church at the Methodist Church. I was known by family and friends as "Betsy." I knew many people that now reside in Evergreen Cemetery.

I am a member of Sumter County Preservation Society, an organization intent of preserving the county's history by discovery and documentation of all of its cemeteries in addition to identification and rehabilitation of its historic structures.
