Born March 10, 1940 in Hogansville, Troup County, Georgia to Herman Hanson Mattingly and Mary Lee Oma Crowe and the second eldest of seven children to Herman and six to Mary.|
My primary genealogical interests include Mattingly and Crow/e and connecting lines. I am descended from Cezar Mattingly but research all of the Mattingly name. From the Crow side, I am descended from James Crow (1713) and his second wife, Grace Denson.
If you see a memorial created by me and the individual concerned is of your immediate line, but not of mine, I am happy to transfer that memorial to you in accordance with Findagrave rules. If you are interested in a memorial outside Findagrave limitations and you have significant information that will improve the memorial, please us the "EDIT KEY" and I will make those changes.
Thanks to all who have contributed to these memorials especially the corrections as accuracy is important.

Thank you ... at least I have company at zero!
|Dennis Hubscher||RE: Rose Loretta Mattingly|
Dear William -- so nice to hear from you! And, yes, you are absolutely correct about Rose being Benjamin Henry's daughter. In fact, it says so on her marriage announcement! Guess I just missed this one -- have no excuses. I've made all the updates I can for now. Appreciate you flagging me on it.
By the way, have you ever been able to locate any death or burial record for any of Benjamin Henry's three wives? I haven't had any luck whatsoever and it's a real bummer. If you come across ANYTHING, PLEASE let me know.

I wanted to let you know that I have posted a picture of Sallie & Logan Hickerson's gravestone on the Hickerson Cemetery Find A Grave page.
I'm sorry for the shadows. It was not a good day to be taking pictures.

Thanks for your prompt reply. The link worked fine and gave me some additional information on siblings to my g-father Paul Langley. The link was also showing that the children of Paul are 7 living which is no longer accurate. Rudell was his only wife if family has been telling the correct story all these years but for research purposes, I guess recording his second wife as Rhoda (with whom he is buried next to) will be what it is since I don't have a marriage certificate in hand as proof. I will do some more searching around ancestry.com and see what else is out there.

In doing family research while looking around on this website, I've noticed you manage quite a few Langley memorials in Grayson and Hardin county Kentucky. Are you related to a Langley ? Do you have records from the cemetery or church ? I am directly related to the Langley's from that area and have little to no information on them past my grandfather and a few uncles. I specifically am looking for any record of Rudell Corley Langley, my grandmother. I appreciate any info you can share.
Thanks so much.

Thanks for info. I found an application for military marker destined for Oak Grove Cemetery in Washington.

Thank you so much for the memorial!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
You had Mary (Polly) correct. Her name was Bennett Tatman.....I do think we need to find out who exactly "Doc" was. and also Add Sarah ( sallie) Ann as one of their children...Thank You again for maintaining this. The Name Mattingly I just found in one of the papers sent to me from KY last year.

Hezekiah Woodward was also referred to as "DOC"
He is not My Hezekiah.....
You can find out more from one of his descendents Elaine, who's father was recently deceased FRANK HINTON in Flemingsburg KY. The Family Hinton's are all pretty much there. The Cemetery honoring REV War Vachel Hinton is there...and a memorial to him is there with My 4 X great Grandfather also named Hezekiah with Vachel's Second wife.
Elaine Hinton Logan is the relation from "DOC"
Vachel was buried over by the little two lane "Highway" going from Maysville, KY ( on the River) to Flemingsburg. His Son and daughter inlaw Molly Pitman-Tatum are buried on either side of his Memorial..which overlooks where he is buried under the Highway.
