Bio Photo Memorials on Find A Grave helped me so much when I started to research my own family I decided it was time for me to give back a little and do some myself.

You have my permission to use any photos taken by me and posted on FindAGrave for your personal use. You do not need to give me credit. Also if you see a memorial I created and you would like to maintain it I'll happily transfer it to you.

Hill
Hi Vicki,

Thank you for dropping a line, and for your offer to help.

Well, I have been unable to locate Phillip's wife, Florence Stephens Hill. I can see that she was still living in 1945, and it appears she passed away in 1951 and did not remarry. I cannot find her in the Palm Beach GenSoc listings or in Find, but I feel it is unlikely she was buried somewhere besides PB county (assuming she was buried).

I suspect her mother is Mary Stephens, 1853-1948, # 122814325. The photo on Mary's memorial appears to have a stone similar to hers right next to her. Unfortunately, no surrounding area photo was included.

However, I did locate her in the PB GenSoc online index under (incorrect?) surname spelling Stevens in Block: 54, Lot: 9. It would be nice to have some confirmation if these two listings refer the same person, and also if there are additional family members interred nearby, possibly under different surnames. Florence passed away only three years later, so I am wondering if she is near. Also, I have not located Mary's husband and Florence's father, John.

I took a few notes which are present on Florence's daughter's memorial, # 176466327, if that might help at all. Sure would be nice to know what became of Ethel mentioned on those notes (another daughter to Phillip and Florence Hill), who passed in Delray in 1916 at the age of 17 years.

Thanks in advance for your help. I am not related to this family, but I do like to see them all memorialized and linked together.

Have a good week ahead,
Sheila

R. A. Hill
Hi Vicki,

Thanks for the info concerning R.A. Hill at Woodlawn. I couldn't find a record of him anywhere, but did notice the Phillip Hill you mentioned.

I enlarged the photo of his stone and noticed the first initial was P instead of R (a blade of grass made it look like an R until it was enlarged). So, as it turns out, mine was a duplicate memorial for Phillip.

I believe that Phillip's family members may be in Hillcrest. I have found some there, and suspect that at least some of the others are also there (possibly including his wife). Not sure if you have access to those records.

In any event, thanks much for your input. Have a great week ahead!

Sheila
