Bio and Links
Bio Photo I love doing genealogy. The search for our ancestors and their stories have intrigued me beyond my own imagination. I love walking the old cemeteries and then, the search that comes with them. I hope I can help another person in their research.

Please, do not add death certificates to the memorials I have created. Sometimes, they can be hurtful to family members. Also, any pictures or information I have added, feel free to use them. It would be nice to have credit for them.

Hi Connie,

The reference to Chief U.S. Marshal for Oklahoma Territory is what my comments referred to.

RE: Minerva Roberts Ferguson
Back on our conversations of Feb 24 and 25, you were asking about the name Nolan or Nolin whatever it is now. Yes, someone came in and changed the work I had done about the grave in Newton Co that says Minerva doesn't say Minerva Jane nor did it say Nolan or Nolen etc. AND, NO it doesn't say Minerva E. either. Someone went in and changed it..So what I'm saying is that being given what is on the headstone, NEITHER of us can prove or disprove which Minerva is buried there. I have researched Minerva Jane Nolin(Nolen, Nolan) and there is nothing that ties her to that county as far as I can tell either..BUT, they CHNAGED the entry on Find A Grave from just Minerva Ferguson to Minerva Jane Nolin Ferguson. I had the Roberts on there, but it isn't on the stone. So, I don't know what to do. I know that James and his new wife, Serena Frances Duncan were living in that general area around the time she died... apparently they moved from Mason right after they married to Kerr County, by 1895 because Carrie Ferguson Schussler was born in Kerr Co Jun. 1895 and were still there til at leas Apr 1897 when Drucilla (Dru) Ferguson Williams was born...then on 1900 census, they were in Liberty Co TX. This is very near Orange and Newton counties. So, its very possible that Minerva was buried there. Just sayin' they did not ever ask me or tell me they were changing the name....they just did it and then I saw it one day. So, I don't even know when they did it.

Conner request in Oakwood, Waco
Connie, Would you kindly remove your request for this little one in Oakwood? The office does not have anything for him. Or, might you have a DC for him. Please let me know or remove the request. Thanks, Dee

Minerva Roberts Ferguson
Just read your messages AGAIN concerning Minerva. Just so you know, I didn't put the name Nolan on the memorial....someone else did and they changed mine. Don't know what I think about that but, yes I know that its not likely she would be buried that far away. However, I just don't know. And yes, it is possible that Roberts was not her maiden name. No one seems to know. I just don't like someone coming along and changing a memorial without contacting the person (me) who entered into Find A Grave in the first place. There had always been some story about Minerva that was mentioned in some history that was done around 1960 that she might have committed suicide. Don't know the answer to that, but yes I know that her grave has not shown up yet in Mason county....unless she really just ran off and married someone else. The fact that she was the 3rd wife came from people over in Sabine Co. that lived there and knew lots about the history in that county....So, back to square 1.. still don't know where she is buried or when she died. I do know that there were lots of my Fergusons who lived down in that area (between Hemphill and Orange, which includes the area where this person is buried).

John Hankin Horton
John Hankin Horton is my great uncle and I viewed his tombstone here. I am wondering why his wife that passed away in 1994 has not been added? Where do I go to include her with her husband since they share the tombstone? Her name is Clio Westbrook Horton, born April 19, 1914.

Thanks for all you do, its awesome to locate family and see their graves, knowing someone took their time to collect all the information and take the time to drive to each cemetery. John and Cloi have one daughter who lives in Hodges. Her husband was put to rest April 21, 2917. Jerrel Woodard.
