Every marker has a story to tell; sometimes I can be its voice|
PLEASE use the Edit tab and Suggest a Correction link to add/correct information. I try to get to them within 24 hours of receipt.
I don't estimate birth years. The relatives of the dearly departed not only could get the date of death wrong on the monument but the age at death. Too many people take anything they find on the Internet as gospel, and I will not contribute to that bad habit.
PLEASE use the Edit tab and Suggest a Correction to request a transfer. Please include your relationship. I will not transfer out of guidelines. Please spare me the "I am the family genealogist" and the "I have tons of information to add" stories. Use the edit system. Too many people have requested out-of-guidelines transfers and then never added so much as a comma to the memorial. Requests for bulk transfers will be summarily ignored.
I WILL NOT link to a "burial unknown". This IS a grave registration site.
If I do not maintain the memorial, but add a picture, PLEASE check the photo caption for the inscription.
My love of old cemeteries is genetic from my dad. I try to take pictures of the fallen/damaged markers first as they might end up "behind the shed" or "over the wall" by the next time I get there.

My pleasure. Found the article while researching my grandmother Marcia who had been a guest at the gathering. The Smalls, also mentioned there, were her sister's in-laws.
Thank you for posting operational preferences in your bio. Being new it helps to see how things work. I had asked others for transfers out of guidelines to post many details, which I constantly continue to research, but only if no other family member was managing or interested, before I realized, why some transfer and some don't. I did faithfully write biographies for persons transferred, which can be seen when looking at the memorials I manage. I don't belong to those "collecting" memorials! And I agree, there is so much false information underway and am also interested in setting the record straight.
I read original 19th and 20th century newspapers that have been scanned in and not just quotes on genealogy sites. Also have compared original birth certificates with gravestones to find interesting differences. Using scanned original census documents, I enjoy piecing the families together.

|Elizabeth Sheehan||Permission to quote Starkweather info|
Dear Mr. Magruder,
I am writing because I have been researching and writing about Charles G. Starkweather's life (based on his letters) for the past three years as a volunteer project for Historic Northampton.
Several years ago I found your "Find-A-Grave"page for CGS and found it very helpful. I have been attending the Meadow City Historian group's meetings for the past year and recently saw the postings by people working on the Bridge Street project and thought I'd submit a listing/mini-bio for them.
I was not aware of your extensive "Find-A-Grave" Starkweather work until this past week when I started creating listings to submit to the group.
I am writing to ask your permission to use information from your pages to add to some of what I know from other sources.
I am grateful for all the work you have done.

Thank you very much for adding the bio note.
|James Bianco||Hannah Billings, Bridge St.|
Hey there, thanks for filling in the missing transcript words for Hannah! She was the 2nd of 3 wives for William C. Billings. I photographed Northfield Center Cemetery a bunch of times trying to get everyone on Find A Grave and he was one of them, although the picture is not so good lol I pass by it once a month so I'll stop in and retake it.
Thank you so much

Yes, I think you are correct about Frank Luther Fish. I was going off of what Family Search had for him. Someone had entered his birth as 8 December 1862, but they did not source it. I found only a birth record for a male child, born 1 December 1866. Frank's death record indicates that he was 10 when he died 29 November 1877, the 1866 birth record is more than likely his. I will make the change in family search. Feel free to alter the bio about the unnamed son.
Thanks for all your help! Much appreciated!

Thanks so much for the photo. I am still not sure whether he is buried in Massachusetts or in Ireland, but I suspect Massachusetts. The one in Ireland appears to be a memorial only.
