RE: Scott County Library

Sorry for the really late reply. Yes, I still work at Scott County Public Library. We normally don't do family research for people. However, there is a local lady who might be willing to do it. I'll get back to you with her name and contact info.

BTW the library is sponsoring an April 20 Scott County Cemetery Project workshop. We will train people to tag local cemeteries with GPS coordinates, take photos, and then upload the info to Find A Grave.

Edward Birch
Lucy 's stone was in section 35 next to John Birch 1924-1944. There is a Edward Birch 1916-1981 in section 24, his stone is next to Charles Birch 1926-1999.
Could this be her husband?

RE: Gertrude Adams
Have you found anything more about Gertrude Adams lear yet, I when on line to the Masonic Cemetery, Stamping Ground and found James Buford James stone. Just a small military stone. Looks like she is not going to be buried with him. She married again in a short while after he died.

RE: Gertrude Adams
I found a date for Gerties 2nd Husband

Victor James, born30 June 1876, died 31 August 1948, i was just small when Vuck died probably about 10 years old he worked on the farm with my father he would bring me candy every day as he would go to the store every night. hec was the son of Shedrack & Sarah Hardy James Buried about a mile and a half frpm the Skinnersburg Store. On the Left after going over a big Hill, Shed and Sarah are both buried there. There used to be a plank fence around the cemetery but after I sold the farm the new people tore it down I don't think there waer any stones at All
James Buford James Vick & gerties son was born 15 August 1931, died of cancer 6 July 2005, You might be able to write to the Georgetown Library and get a copy of the Obituary to get the name of the children of James Buford He had been married before and I velieve he had a daughter by this marriage named Vickie and one by the second marriage also and a grandchild

RE: Gertrude Adams
Yes Gertie was a very dear neighbor, we lived accross the road on the Glass Pike from her farm. Yes she married again to a man names Victor James who I thought the world of, her and Victor seperated after she had a son named James Buford James who I dated after I was 15 years old, We played together as a child. After her first son J. B. Lear died all she had left was James Buford, he went in the Army and was sent to Germany, we drifted apart and when he came home I was going to marry My husband, James finally married and tended the farm, Since he was the only one left he inherited the farm. he died a few years ago from cancer, I went to see him just a few days before he died, I went to his funeral, he is buried in the Stamping Ground Masonic Cemetery nearly to the back maybe two graves from the back fence, His wife remarried shortlyafter he died, They had a daughter that was grown & had a small James child I believe it was a little girl, She had a trailer on the lane infront of the house. Her husban was in the military at the time. His wife finally sold the family farm. She had a trailer where the old house used to be. She worked as a care giver for elderly people but couldn't make it by her self I don't know what became of them. Victor was buried further down the Long Lick Pike on the Tackett farm. There were no stones there but before I left there I put a pieony bush on his grave to mark it
