To honor our passed relatives and friends with memorials on Find A Grave is a great way to reconnect with our families and make contacts with those "long lost" relatives. I feel that truely honoring a person is remembering their life, their passions and their loves and then sharing it with their families and others. This is my main purpose of being a member of Find A Grave. My personal goal is to get my family's direct line documented and "reconnected" as completely as possible. You can find my family descendant's names listed in my "virtual cemeteries".|
I have documented many memorials in many cemeteries that are not my relatives. This is the way I "pay forward" the many family memorials that have been documented and/or transferred to me.
My transfer philosophy is simple. If you are a relative AND a closer relative than myself, I will gladly transfer. The only relatives that I will NOT transfer are those families in my direct line. I preferentially reserve non-family memorial transfers for family members but have also transferred to others that share my philosophy and have convincing justification to manage the memorial.
If you find any memorials that are in YOUR direct line or are family members, please request each transfer through the edit tab on each memorial. Please include your name, FAG#, relationship (if any) and justification for the transfer.
Finally, I am not a member of Find A Grave to build my memorial numbers, so please ask for transfers of your family members. Hopefully we can all get reconnected with our heritage as we reconnect our families. Someday my memorial will be on this list and I hope that someone in my family will manage my memorial with dignity and share my heritage and my life's story with my descendants, those that I have loved and those that have loved me.

I put in a request for a transfer for Janelle Nausha # 116475663 to me, Sharon Nausha Palmer # 48594290. Janelle is my daughter and I believe you say that you will transfer anyone that is related to you. Please consider transferring her memorial to me. I could not find this one but I did find a photo on another website:

It's my pleasure, John. I'm pretty sure your family will always remain one of my favorite Find A Grave stories: We found stones identified only "Mother" and "Father," and their family found them almost immediately! :)
These are the stories that keep everyone going. I really am thrilled that our effort resulted exactly as they should have.
Keep up the great work! I think I saw that Don still has the memorial for one of their children. If you shoot him a request, I'm sure he'll respond positively.
I have transferred the original memorials to you to be updated. I did not see the edits until I'd done that. Please do not delete our memorial, but rather update it with your information. (Option 2)
|jane austin||RE: Johnsons...|
So the Johnsons are your great great grandparents? oog. That makes it 5th generation, and not a requirement.
I have spoken to my husband who laid flat on his belly to get the detail on the photos that allowed me to identify Mother and Father as your people. And his response to the question of "Do I transfer?" was, "Of course. That's why we do this!"
So I will be transferring their memorials to you because people on quests such as yours are the reason we spend all summer in cemeteries. We are honored to be the ones who walked those rows to honor these people and put them in virtual contact with the rest of their family.
I will visit often, so leave a light on for me! :)
