Bio

I became interested in Find A Grave after a step family member of mine made an attempt to record my mother's family history with the assistance of the Ancestry web site. Finding that this person had found it necessary to incorrectly embellish facts without evidence, I decided to do my best to research the family history from within the the cities from which these family members resided. I achieved corrected name spellings and historical dates from libraries, churches, cemeteries, governmental vital record offices, and one elderly surviving family member. My own mother was very helpful up until her passing. I had to create a goal for myself to do this for reasons other than correcting fabricated stories, so I decided to seek out deceased family members of the Christian faith. My mother and her brother were unable to provide any information about the faith of relatives. They both however gave me insight to the lives of family members that I was never able to meet. I found myself following paths that answered questions that may only interest me, e.g., 1) What level of education did this person achieve? 2) What occupations provided an income for the family? 3) What musical instruments did any family members play? 4) What hobbies they may have had? 5) How did this person spend their free time, (if they had free time)? 6) What were they not able to afford, (or what did they do without)? 7) How was their health in general? 8) What major event may have affected their life? etc...
I'm very fortunate to have a very old family photo album from my mother's parents. This photo album is in very poor condition. I'm also very fortunate to have photo correction skills, (skills that I use on a daily basis). I've painstakingly digitized and restored most of what I have, and have submitted the most important of these photos to the Find A Grave site. This photo album lacks some documentation, and because of the various ages of family members in the album, I've unexpectedly had to dabble in the science of human ear recognition, (biometric recognition). This became a unique and enjoyable challenge for me.
Due to web research efforts, I've connected with cousins that have been lost or unknown to me. I believe opportunities to meet with family members exist today due to this "Find A Grave" site. I've tried, (for the most part) to only record the good history that should be passed on for generations to come. I challenge any of my family members to do the same. I prefer not to document my life in this bio area. I would rather a family member submit information as to how I impacted their lives, and the community in which I lived. How would you want to be remembered? This is great site! My efforts are a "work in progress". I continually make corrections as I discover new information.
Many thanks to friends and family that have steered me to this site. It's my desire for a family member to take control of my membership after I've run out of air. Submitted 4~1~19.

P.S. This bio is version #6 of which I'm certain to update in the future.
