Someone remembers, someone cares. |
Your name is whispered in someone's prayers.
Do you want a memorial transferred to your care? I transfer freely, (and out of guidelines,) as long as I have no connection to the memorial.
If I take a volunteer photo for you, it is yours to do with as you wish. Volunteers are doing you a favor! Please remember to acknowledge every volunteer who helps you out.
Note to folks who use this site as a genealogy source:
Many memorials I post have been thoroughly researched. Always check your sources, take nothing at face value, and don't believe anything unless you can prove it yourself.
Please visit my parents,
DAD and MOM
Our beloved dog and cat,
Reba and Tigger.
Charles E. Shipley A 16 year old boy who is buried in the loneliest spot in the cemetery.
My friend, Terry and my friend, Jim.
Dave, my children's father.

I'll send the spouse as well.
By the way I like you're name "MidwestMom"
I'm not 100% sure but I think it may be different people. However, the same birth year makes me think it is possibly the same person. The markers aren't the same but sometimes people had personal ones next to family markers. The marker on my memorial is hard to read as well, so it's possible the birth year is wrong. If you find out differently please let me know so I can delete the duplicate, or correct anything on it. Better yet, since you are related most likely, I'll give the memorial to you.

Thanks so much, Pam! I'll get back to you about Charles, I will check my connection....
This is Loline Bradshaw Sammons, a Withrow descendant. We've talked many times on the phone about our common ancestors; sorry to have lost contact with you....lots of health issues. Here's my email: email@example.com. If you don't have my phone, (lost yours, too) I'll send it in an email. Love to talk about your recent discoveries I'm seeing on Find A Grave. Loline

Hi, Pam-- thanks for the note. The two are the same: Boothill and the Virginia City Cemetery are the same thing. I'll see if I can figure out how to merge the two memorials.
I am Agnes and Jabez's great great granddaughter. I've written a novel based on their lives: AGNES CANON'S WAR. It's available through Amazon and Barnes & Noble, if you're interested. How are you related?
Also see my website: www.deborahlincoln.org for more info. There's an email link there, too.

Thank you for the email about the Barna Hadley.
I am on the Board for both Pine Grove and Laurel Hill Cemeteries ... I photographed every stone in Pine Grove Cemetery personally and the Hadley Family is not buried there. Even the background of the photograph is not like Pine Grove Cemetery in Deposit, NY ... you can see pavement in the picture. There is no road, dirt or paved in the cemetery.
I suggested that they might have been buried in Pine Grove Cemetery in Meredith, Delaware Co, New York, since they were insisting the cemetery was named Pine Grove ... and that sits on a hill and has paved roads through it.
When I return to Deposit in October, I will look into the Laurel Hill Cemetery claim to the Hadley Family.

I was up here in the Portland area
Visiting my son. Thought I would visit the Willamette National Cemetery, and spent two days taking photos. Couldn't get all of them done. A lot of demand. I took over 50 photos includ
ing your request. A very enjoyable experience for me as a veteram.

Sure thing! I will transfer him to you! I wish there was a stone for him but this cemetery is quite old and so many of the stones have tumbled or crumbled and and been covered by earth, or can't be read anymore. I've spent a long time walking the cemetery to try and preserve the memories of those who have gone before us!
