Bio and Links
Bio Photo Family research has interested me since I was in grade school and we had to make a little family tree for ourselves. Photos have always been one of my favorite parts of the puzzle-either photos of people or their graves or places they lived. Our main family lines are Blanford, Booth, Buss, Calhoun, Castle, Champlin, Cheeseman, Chesebrough, Cochran, Danner, Denison, Epler, Ferguson, Hrobsky, McDowell, Messenger, Miller, Noyes, Painter, Parsons, Riffel, Robidoux, Schumann, Silgman, Smith, Stanton, Stewart, Tracy, and Viets.

Buggy findagrave
Hello Mary

Thanks for the message concerning the weird mixing of photos and memorials. I can just say that I did not do any of these mistakes. I can only explain it that these mistakes must have been generated by the site itself. These days I see myself confronted with a number of similar demands to correct this weird phenomenon. Something is really going wrong at findagrave. I hope they correct it quickly.

Hi Jim and Mary. Not sure if you know I am related to Soloman L Cochran and his second wife Mary Hawthorne. I wonder if you have any pictures of this side of the family you would care to share with me. I have tried to make contact over the years with different people and they just kind of brush me off. My line is on the Puett side. My email is brookstj17@fiberpipe.net if you would like to get in touch. Thanks Trudy Brooks.

RE: Franz Popritz
You are certainly welcome. I was amazed at how many stones are gone in this cemetery. It's very sad.

I was surprised to see women in the class as well. It wasn't often women even went through the 8th grade years later.

Joseph Quarles is also in the class. I believe he was a Capt. in the Union and ended up being a Senator. Don't quote me on that as it comes from my memory.

(17931891) and they had 7 children: William B. (18161907); Mary E. (18181903); George H. (18241891, my line); Elizabeth A. (18261910); Christopher C., Sr. (18281904); James U. (18331916); & Erastus S. (18361914, your line).
We're having a Castle gathering in Manteca, CA, June 10th to share genealogical information and get acquainted. I don't know where you're located, but would love to have you join us. If you're interested please contact me: lorna_mansfield@clyr.com

Just added a photo for Emory. I believe he was in the first graduating class of Kenosha High School. I listed all the people in the photo as it was listed on the captions. I found this photo in the Kenosha Civil War Museum. Sorry it isn't a better photo.

If you do not want it in your memorial, feel free to delete it. If you can't, just let me know.

RE: Shelhorn sources
I'd like to email if you are comfortable with that: jmcglothlin at charter dot net

It will be easier.

I think your Julius Ludwig "Lewis" is my guy. He shows up variously as Louis and Lewis and with the last name spelled several ways. I've got him tracked all the way from 1850 to his death in 1922.

I've got him as born in Oct 1834 (from 1900 census in Rulo, Nebraska). He married a woman named Mary (b. abt 1840; don't know maiden name)- and probably married about 1865 judging from birth year of the first child, Mary. You can see them on the 1870 census in Summit, Wisconsin which is where Johann Casper also lived. His daughter Mary is my wife's grandmother.

Shelhorn sources
I am curious how you got the information on Johann Casper Shelhorn's memorial (42615944)relating to first name, parents, immigration, and wife's maiden name.

BTW, I'm pretty sure I have a son who's not on your list. My wife descends from him so that's my interest.

Thanks.
